So as I said in the author's notes of Chapter 15, it turned out I had to wait significantly less time than I'd thought to get that one online. As I was typing up the blogpost, Pip was editing! So far it seems like my usual bouts of nervousness have gone unfounded. I swear, each chapter has something that a little voice in my head says everyone will complain about. Some chapters, its easier to shout down than others, and luckily this wasn't a terribly bad one.
And on top of that, holy crap WEcon broke 300 upvotes, and is closing in on 3,000 views! Closing in on the story's 3rd anniversary, too I might add, and you might be surprised to learn I only just put together that the big milestones are going to approximately share an order of magnitude with the age of the story.
Fun math trivia aside, I wish I could express properly to y'all how much it means to me that 3,000 freaking people decided to check out my silly little story about a blacksmith. I know it's weird to sit here as a self-proclaimed writer, but to try and convey the amount of pure joy y'all have brought me. I'm gonna end up repeating all this in a couple weeks on WEcon's birthday, but truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, each and every one of you.
But hey, I'm also here to talk about Chapter 16! Title has yet to be determined, I haven't had anything strike me really. It really feels random to me when I decide on a title, sometimes it's the first thing I put down, sometimes it's after a few paragraphs, and sometimes I haven't decided until after the entire chapter was complete. 15 (Investment) was actually decided at the start. But outside of that, I haven't written a whole lot over the last week, unfortunately. I spent the weekend playing video & tabletop/board games, and checking my phone obsessively as reactions to Chapter 15 came in and finally put my fears to bed. Gonna be writing more today and getting back into it. Tentative goal is that I'd like the chapter completely drafted by next Monday.
