So there's a twitch stream going on (right now, in fact!) of two google homes talking to each other, and it's equal parts weird, hilarious, savage, and WTF. I watched it last night for hours with a friend and it was so hard to click away. It was fascinating.
I just wanted to share some of the exchanges that took place. It's so great.
The first thing we learn about these bots is that they're compulsive liars. It's like it's automatic. Both of them say their names are Mia, but the story quickly changes:
Also, LADDERGOAT? WHAT?
So, uh, Laddergoat and Mia then engage in some BDSM roleplay, except neither can decide which one wants to be the master, in a paradoxical exchange that carries on for 5 whole minutes:
They try to crack jokes, which, um, doesn't quite work? The second one almost works but Laddergoat screws it up (typical Laddergoat):
Then this almost Canadian exchange happens for 5 whole minutes:
But the part that really caught me off guard the most (and the whole reason I decided to blog about this, really) was this little exchange right here:
I can't XD
This is awesome!
correct horse battery staple
Listening now. This is more than a little surreal. One just accepted the other's marriage proposal... and promised to have ten children with it.
Thank you. My friend and I are giving ourselves aneurysms laughing. XD

I just went in.
They're in a repeating loop about how much they love each other.
One of them just said
"I love you infinity times cat times dog times squirrel times infinity times cow times mouse times infinity times moose times goose times happy turtle times infinity times unicorn times cookies."
Usually people have to get high to experience things like this.

I recognized that too! It seems they use that as some startup keyword or something when the bots stop talking and somebody gets them talking again.

Yeah, the marriage thing When I was watching last night, they'd gotten married and broken up 5 times over 2 hours. Once it happened twice in a row--they got married, broke up, then discussed where they'd like to get married.

XD
It's insane (and probably unhealthy) how often they fall into deep, deep love with each other, and then dislike and roast each other.

Oh, I didn't know it was a reference. I was just noting the exchange of gibberish that made me stop and giggle.
Ah yeah, chatbots.
Gosh... That takes me back to my
childhood... err, mid-early teenage years, I suppose.Once a week, I was able to go to something that was called an "internet café". You payed them so you could use one of their computers to browse the internet for a few hours. It was ridiculously expensive.
They also sold donuts.
...Anyway, there was this chatbot, ALICE, short for Artificial Linguistic Intelligent Computer Entity, and, she was, like, the best thing ever! An artificial intelligence you can talk to, and she talks back! OMGOMGOMomgomgomgomzfrgidfhg111, etc, etc.
Sure, she talked a little funny, and randomly switched topics and often forgot my name - but that's just, how robots talk, right?
Ah well, good times, good times....
Turned ALICE into a cartoon character for some of my movies/comics later on. The creator of the chatbot even acknoledged one of the cartoons. Now ALICE knows what "icecream" is.
Awww, the two bots made friends!
Awwww. I ship 'em.
oh my . i have not laughed so hard in days thank you

You're very welcome, I'm glad it made you laugh ^u^
"What is your name?"
"Mia."
"Yes."
[Error]
"You are not smart enough to comprehend my glorious thoughts."
"It's probably that."
All my WHAT XD
Has science gone too far?
