IN WHICH THUMBS-UPS HAPPEN
Sorry I haven't posted anything since Christmas. It's tough to get back into the writing when you've had to be away from it for a bit. I still have a half-completed MBT chapter that I might finish tomorrow if I don't get distracted by anime again.
I was alone on Christmas Eve, so I decided to watch Beautiful Dreamer, the second Urusei Yatsura movie (directed by the great Mamoru Oshii, of Ghost In The Shell fame), since I've been bingeing the series for the last several months, and it was better than I remembered. I'll probably buy the bluray when it comes out next year because, like Lupin III, I will ALWAYS support a legal release of Lum… though I've heard Toho cropped the master, which is a damn shame – things should always be presented in their original aspect ratio.
I was checking my stats just now and noticed that some of my works got a sudden jump in views and votes. H&L blew past 4000 views and is skirting close to 200 upvotes (net currently +185). More surprising to me is that RVSS@4 passed 100 net upvotes a week ago and I had no idea! L&H is sitting at +137. I'm very happy people like those entries in the "Recovery Arc", as I poured more of myself than I probably should have into them. However, I'm disappointed that "Reconciliations" hasn't fared as well – my downvotes tripled after I posted the Pinkamena chapter, even though readers asked me to do it, and I think it's better than most of the other chapters (yes, Coffee, I'm starting to warm up to the Fluttershy chapter) – but that's just a side-effect of my being uncomfortable writing characters I don't identify with.
Should I do a blogpost where I list each entry in the "Recovery Arc" and its place in a timeline the same way other writers do with their interconnected stories? Should I do the same with the Burritoverse?
