Why not Infernape, I can hear your minds thinking away, if you like rounding up evolutions to Pokemon? Simple: Chimchar was my very first Pokemon EVER. I didn't choose those suckers Piplup and Turtwig, I went with Chimchar! The best one! Though yes, it does eventually evolve into the dreaded Fire/Fighting-type, it is surprisingly the mixed attacker of the three starters. Because of this, Chimchar can dish out physical and special attacks on a whim. Plus, it's just fucking adorable. I look forward to the day when I can finally use it again in the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes that are definitely coming out.

Ah, I remember the day when I first got Pokémon diamond. It was the first Pokémon game that I owned and didn't rent from Blockbuster. (Remember that was a thing?) I started the game, selected Chimchar as my starter, and the rest is history.

Chimcar really was one of the best gen 4 Pokemon. It was a level 100 Infirnape later in Heart Gold that helped me CRUSH Red.
