I've seen a lot of people who liked Friendship is Magic try to watch G1 MLP only to get confused by the episode order. If you watch G1 episodes in the "official" order, it will make no sense, because somehow the pilot episode was put at the end of season one in the list.
The actual story order goes like this:
Escape from Midnight Castle (In two parts) (Also called "Rescue at Midnight Castle" or "Firefly's Adventure")
Escape from Katrina (In two parts)
My Little Pony: The Movie (Yes, it's literally just called The Movie)
The End of Flutter Valley (In eight parts)
After that you can watch the episodes in list order, because they have no ongoing plots connecting them.
Quite so. I've also seen G1, it's the only other good generation of MLP IMO. I like how it begins with a demon evil enough to die in a TV cartoon in the 1980s. THAT'S how MLP began as a TV series, so take that skeptics
The one thing you got wrong is that The End of Flutter Valley is in TEN parts. But you're right about the order. It doesn't make sense that they'd put Rescue at Midnight Castle and Escape from Catrina out of order but they did.
Rescue from Midnight Castle comes first coz it's when Megan is introduced to the ponies. Escape from Catrina introduces bushwoolies. Then the movie has to come before The End of Flutter Valley coz the latter references Hydia's previous threats from the former.

Oh, sure enough. End Flutter Valley has 10 parts. My mistake. It's kind of just The Movie 2.
