so last month this beauty of an animation was published:
It's a very good animation. One of the best I've seen ever since I've been in this place. I absolutely loved every single part of it, including the music.
These two artists have poured an incredibly huge amount of effort into this project, and still, there are some people in either comment sections or image boorus complaining about a certain detail in the animation.
Surely, this isn't perfect. You just can't deny the fact that these people spent so much time and effort to create this piece. I can't believe how people in this fandom can NEVER be satisfied with any kind of pony-themed project that's done. There's always a problem, always a nitpick, always something negative against it. It pisses me off that the only thing that these people WONT find a problem in is porn.
Yes, that's right, porn. I've never seen an nsfw animation/game been criticized because of its quality. It's always a circlejerk.
And now, here we have a fuckton of neckbeards complaining about how this animation was pure shit just because it didn't include things such as explosions and death like in their favorite anime shows. These are also the kind of people who think that animating a character is just as easy as whining about something. This fandom has truly disappointed me this time.
If you're an aspiring artist/animator who wishes to draw sfw related artwork, you're fucked. Go find a different fandom. In this place you won't be praised unless you draw/animate porn. Same applies to writing. Find a better place.
Eh...? I've seen many people praise this new video and style of animation before. And more than plenty of SFW stuff gets received well, so why would people get screwed that much? I don't know what part of the fandom you've been seeing, but what I've seen tends to favor NSFW as much as SFW than throw stones at either one. If anything, I heard more controversial things out of the NSFW side; Molestia criticism, anyone? That weirdo letter to stop Twilight art because someone was married to her? And THEN there was the seemingly very mixed feelings brought upon by "Fall of Equestria", among other oddities... Frankly, I found that re-telling of the origins of Nightmare to be beautifully sung, beautifully animated, and rather accurate to how the jealousy swelled up into something terrifying.
