Cider Update · 12:36am Dec 13th, 2016
I moved the Belgian yeast batch into a secondary, and added fining agents to both batches. Fining is a catch-all term for something that makes the cider/beer/wine more clear / less cloudy. Mostly it's cosmetic, though it will remove unwanted yeast flavor too. Photos here.
The English will stay in the conical fermenter until I have the Belgian in bottles.

I would like to dabble with some distilling, but the permits and tax stamps are a pain to get.

In the U.S. one has to register a distillery apparatus with the ATF, and the pay takes on what you plan on distilling before you distill it.
