    Oh hey I wrote something

It’s just a short chapter for Slices of Raridash, but it’s something!

I’ve had a terrible case of writers’ block lately. No idea if this is a sign of pushing out of it but I suppose we’ll see!

Thank you all for the interest!

I really hope I can do you all proud with this story. It’s a lot more ambitious than my usual content, and I’m hoping I can do the concept justice.

This is why I never said I was "officially" retired.

Guess I suddenly got an urge

Maybe I'll do more? I don't know! This just popped into my head and I did a thing.

    Everything must (kind of) go!

    Hi!

So I haven’t been here in a long time. I know this and I apologize.

I think…I hate to say it, but I think my pony writing days might be over?

Maybe not, but I just haven’t had the motivation to write in quite a while, despite having a few ideas.

Looking for some feedback! · 9:14pm Dec 5th, 2016

Hiya!

First off, I'd like to apologize for my utter lack of writing in the past couple of months. I've found myself incapable of writing for some reason, but I'm hoping to fix that in the near future.

Second off, I'd like to welcome people who might be new to my work! I've picked up some new readers thanks to DrWolf001's ongoing reading of Small Scale, and it's a pleasure to have you! If you didn't know about this reading, head on over to his channel linked above and check it out! He's putting out a chapter every Monday and Wednesday until it's done (currently up to chapter 3), and it's a very nice, relaxing reading. He produces plenty of other quality content as well, so give him a look-see!

Anyway, this renewed interest in Small Scale has got me wanting to write a sequel. I really loved writing the original so much and was taken aback by the response it got, and at the time I thought that maybe I was done with that particular universe. The more I think on it, though, the more I want to expand it a bit with a sequel. I've got a couple of idea threads bouncing around of what I could write about in a sequel, but I'd like to also see what the readers think. So...

If I were to write a sequel to Small Scale, what would you like to see in it?

I can't guarantee that a sequel will be forthcoming, but I'm certainly interested in doing so. I also can't guarantee that I will take suggestions given. I'm mainly just interested in seeing what people would want to see in a sequel.

I know this may seem folly, but... how about some Mother Twilight interactions with Spike?

I'd like to see more on Celestia and Bahamut's relationship cause it seems like they're dating and or married but haven't seen each other in those decades with how they act around each other, and actual confirmation on whether Celia is or isn't Spike's birth mother cause there were some strong hints to it but nothing outright stating that she is or not and that the hints were misdirection or red herrings.

I'd also like to see more into the stolen eggs that the Shaman had sold off. Where did they go, have they hatched & if so are they slaves? Will a full on investigation into the matter happen to find them all?

I'm all yes for a sequel.

What I would like to see is Mama Dragon (sorry, forgot her name) to come and visit Ponyville and have her teach more about dragon culture to Spike, and subsequently to Twilight, and in return have them learn her more about pony culture.

Another plot that can be exploit is having the mane six investigating the kidnapping of dragon's egg and maybe in the end reunite Mama Dragon and her child.

I would also like to see more interaction between Celestia and Bahamut.

I would realy love a sequel whit more Bahamuth and Celestia because the ending made me very curious about your headcannon.

I'd love to see a sequel, with more motherly interactions between Spike and Celia and/or Twilight, or the relationship between Celestia and Bahamut. I'm a lot less interested in any dark depressing stories about child trafficking in dragon eggs though.

I like to see Spike taking up a spot into investigating the missing eggs and find the buyers of the eggs.

I was DYING to know that the stolen eggs were safely returned and the trafficers were executed (or at least turned to stone and smashed) for their crimes. I want to see little Dragons reunited with their families and the criminals brought to (HARSH) justice.

"I wish," Spike said. "That Celia will be happy and eventually have a whelp of her own."

I want Spike's wish to come true.

I adored the first story. I remember wwiting every dsy with bated breath to see if the next chapter was out. It was involved, enthralling, and just complex enough to have a nearly perfect balance. Please write a sequel.

You know what... I'm going to go back and read it again.

have the Sparkle family meet new dragon mom?

Hey, I had this story tracked a long time ago, but Dr. Wolf's reading brought it back to my attention, so I finally read it and loved it.

In a sequel I would want to have something about Spike's origin. How did Celestia's school come to have his egg, and how does that tie into the stolen eggs plot thread, if at all.

With all do respect. I kinda want a reboot than a sequel. :twilightblush: Even though I liked the idea of Spike being kidnapped by a motherly dragon and experiencing what the dragon lands look like, you kinda ruined some good ideas. Like instead giving the ponies a bad reputation of being egg thieves you adding a twist by having the shaman steal them instead and lying to everyone. That idea could have put Spike in a tuff possession if that was truth which would have made the story much more interesting.

It also could have lead to the idea on how Spike ended up with Twilight as an egg in the first place. Not to mention the idea that Celia could have been Spike's real mother. Truth could have been discovered. I don't know about the Spike being brain washed idea but I did like the way you made the dragons look like a misunderstood race.

I'm not saying I dislike the story. :twilightblush: I actually like it as a matter of fact. :pinkiehappy: But what I don't like is that you had some good ideas and than you threw them away just to make a twist.

Its just my opinion. I mean nothing by it.

4329878 I second that :) Loved the story!

The ideas of an immediate sequel to follow-up on events from the story aren't bad, so I'm gonna throw one that I haven't seen above just as a suggestion.

Why not something further in the future when Spike is entering his teen years? I'm not sure how dragons age/grow according to the canon of your story but a short piece where Spike is dealing with growth spurts and hormones and strange changes to his body that nopony could have ever expected and Celia being there to comfort him could make for something nice.

If you don't want it all fluffy and feelings and growing up then perhaps said coming-of-age could involve some kind of trial or ritual Spike must complete or else dire consequences could befall him and/or the rest of Equestria. Bahamut is obviously on good terms with Celestia but he might need Spike to do this just as much for the sake of teaching the dragons as it is for Spike's own good. And then of course you get both Celia and Twilight trying to help Spike figure out how to handle things and... and I should stop before I write this whole story myself (heh heh, bad habits sorry) but I think you get the gist.
