With my quest/race to get a Rainbow S on all of Freedom Planet 2's stages, my creativity lit up like a bonfire again, and I started crafting an alternate ending of sorts for the past week.

That sounds a lot like what some acquaintances of mine do every few weeks. They're big LARPers and after a meet they always go to a 24hr diner to unwind. The one time I went it was around two dozen people. Granted, they usually storm a diner around midnight, not 4am. And, as it's all people in their 20s and older, some of whom work a similar job, they tend to be nicer to the staff than families would be.
They had a meet last night. I'm pretty sure you didn't get cross with people I know (America's a huge country), but what a bizarre coincidence.
God, still not as bad as those assholes who come in 10 minutes before closing time and the take forever to order and eat.
If I had been there, Miles, I wold have been doing my impression of Neegan from The Walking Dead by beating the jerks/morons with a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire.
Then I would have sat myself down, had a nice breakfast, paid my bill, remembering to tip generously, and left.
