Three topics on the theme of money to cover here.
Firstly, I am happy to say that my attempt to pass as a functional adult in meatspace has hit a new milestone. Starting on the twelfth, I will be gainfully employed in a nine-to-five position. Sadly, this means that my Fimfiction presence will be dropping drastically. Aside from the hour-long commute each way, I have no idea how much the company monitors employees' Internet traffic, and I'm not willing to take any chances. I won't stop generating horsewords any time soon, but be aware that I'll have some much more stringent time constraints to deal with.
Secondly, Dromicosuchus, one of my favorite authors on the site, is taking a much more entrepreneurial approach to getting an income. He's trying to reformat his Cthulhu Mythos story The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord Sassaflash into a ponyless version that can be sold without rousing Hasbro's lawyers from their slumber in sunken Rl'yeh. If you're interested in helping him, he's set up a Patreon so he can eat and suchlike as he reworks a piece that heavily integrates Equestria into something that doesn't.
Thirdly, a preview, nearly devoid of context:
"How many times did I tell you about ComeFundThis?"
"I thought you were making it up."
"How many times did I show you ComeFundThis?"
"You know how to code the Interweb!"
"I know how to browse it."
"Interweb?" said Sunset.
"I am not good with computers."
"I'm pretty sure ours has started laughing at her."
Hooray for gainful employment!
Your near-omnipresence will be missed.
Woohoo! Less FoME on FIMfiction is sad, but a better remunerated and more secure FoME is good. Go you!
Congratulations on taking another step down the road of adulthood, a path paved with responsibility, taxes and disappointment. May God have mercy on your soul. As for the preview, maybe P Twilight is trying to make something?
Best of luck, though it will be sad to see your prodigious output drop even a bit.
Congratulations, FoME!
Looking forward to more of your work, at whatever rate it comes out.
May I ask what sort of job you landed?

The official title is "application developer." In practice, I'm going to be hunting for bugs in other people's code. Should be a very interesting experience; I'm used to working with at most one other person with this sort of thing.

Sounds like beta reading. Best of luck to you.

Aha! Also, then, trick to not worrying about work-browsing habits? Personal laptop + tether to your phone. Bam. S'what I do when I have downtime in the office and nada is going on.
Congratulations?
... Hmm... Well, if the computer isn't actually laughing, a Paradiamond isn't on it then... I wonder if Gillion is emotional enough to laugh...
Are there any OCs in that snippet? Sorta gotta be? I can't think of... ... No wait. Luna. Luna is tech-illiterate enough to be the one in that snippet!

Well, now you'll get plenty of opportunities to make zerg/tyranid/whatever those aliens from Starship Troopers were called jokes about going on a bug hunt!
Best of luck.
Congratulations, fellow developer! Sounds like a fun job!
My company has no idea what my internet traffic looks like if I don't want them to, thanks to the magic of RSA encryption. But, er, yeah, don't risk your job. Job's more important. We'll survive somehow!
That is why I have google docs on my phone, to avoid drawing the ire of my corporate overlords.

Congrats on your new job!
Kudos on a job and I'll make sure to have space for when you desire my editing skills n_n

The only good bug is a dead bug!
Would you like to know more?
If the company has computers, assume they can see you, is the general rule.
Congrats on the job though!
Hooray for money! Buying things is great. Enjoy the gainful employment!
I got a nine to five job too! However, I started it more than a year ago, didn't get my contract renewed, and then got a different nine to five job, with longer commute and infinitely worse office politics.
I wish you better luck than I had.
Congrats on the job! Keeping my fingers crossed both that it goes well, and that we get to keep seeing you around.
