Don't let people stop you from using creativity. Some may be bad, some may be dreadful, but that's the thing with creativity. You create ways to make it even better. That's the creative truth.

MLP Fallout: Is It Good? · 2:22pm Nov 16th, 2016

I just recently read Lord of the Flies, thought of a nuclear version of that, almost like Fallout. And now I have that MLP Fallout story in my head, but I never read it.

Is it good? The popular one, obviously.

You mean Fallout: Equestria? I've been planning on reading that, but just haven't come around to doing so yet. From what I heard, it's a good story.

I love Lord of the Flies! Did you enjoy it?

4304870 Didn't finish it. Not even close. It's for World Literature class, and we're just kicking off Chapter One. I'm liking it so far! I always wanted a story where people make their own civilization!

4304912 I'm warning you now, Golding writes some twisted stuff, including, but not limited to, a mad dean who mistakes tuberculosis for an angel, English country village rape, and a sailor who creates purgatory for himself out of one of his own molars. Though none of that's in Lord of the Flies. The fact that it's named after Beelzebub is a good start, mind.

4304929 Hey, I'm cool with dark stuff.

It is LONG as Hell, but even if you're not into the fallout franchise, I'd give it a read for interest's sake.

It depends on what you mean by "good." It's a perfectly decent story, but it is not a masterpiece. For one thing it's far too dark, even by Fallout standards (there's lots of blood and gore, for one, including some horrific deaths of the canon cast). Also the degree to which the author mashes the MLP universe to fit Fallout concepts stretches disbelief.

I'd give it a read if you're into Fallout, since it does work as an effective mash-up of concepts from the series, but if you aren't then it may not have much to offer.

Dark as hell, and how the author describes Equestria's current state and what the ponies were reduced to kinda made me sad.

It feels a little hard for me to try and summarize it, especially spoiler-free. I have only actually read about half of the story itself to be perfectly honest. I think I'll let this review do it for me. Actually, this review has some spoilers for the existence of certain characters and their relationship. I'll give you a bit that's barely a spoiler at all, though: Littlepip is homosexual.

If you are more into action and a more violent protagonist, you can give Project Horizons a try. Personally, I've only read two chapters and there's about 1,000,000 WORDS! The original is only 620,000 words! Here's a spoiler-free review. Okay, this one is about the same case and it reveals a certain internal conflict that I have not seen in the first 40,000 words.
