The reason I write is because I want to read a story written for myself. One day, I want to read one of my own stories and say to myself "That is the best story I have ever read."

    Merry Christmas

So to start off, I wish a heartfelt and sincere Merry Christmas to everybody, or Happy Holidays for those who do not celebrate.

Of course, I know that the feeling of needing to be happy at this time is quite taxing. I see it a lot in my day job doing social work. To those, I do wish that at least your hardships be soothed for a short period of time.

vren55 talks to his readers. Disney Edition · 2:11am Nov 15th, 2016

B/c well my brain is frying itself doing work, I need to de-stress by talking to my readers :P Chapter 25 I'm plugging away but when you got two essays, one 20 page the other 30... well yeah.

So, who is excited for this?

Cause I am. I mean they got some pretty good and practical costume design and while I don't think the beast is as scary as his animated counterpart... I like Emma in the trailer and I like everything else as well. I can't wait to see this next year!

Anyway i suppose I should put forth my question... and a confession. My favorite disney movies are the Lion King, and Atlantis: The Lost Empire. I loved the story and animation + epic scope of the Lion Kind and I just adored Atlantis's action and characters. What are yours?

You know disney would shut down this site if it was about a disneen show? So no I care not about anything they have coming out.....

Atlantis has become a bit of a black sheep for Disney: They have characters that smoke cigarettes! (the old radio lady) Not to mention the subtle racism that fit the time period. It felt more realistic, if anything else.

It would have to be my favorite of the more modern Disney movies. My absolute favorite is Sleeping Beauty. Maleficent was the most amazing villain ever. She's the reason why I enjoy Chrysalis as a villain! :rainbowkiss:

Atlantis The lost Empire and Mulan.
Atlantis was just a beautiful movie and a good example of how 'advanced' doesn't always mean 'better', and Mulan just has a nice humor about itself while still being decently serious.

Interesting, makes you wonder what other animated films Disney will turn into a live action film. As for me my favourite Disney animated films are Lilo and Stich, Aladin, Atlantis, Mulan and Treasure Planet.

4302714 *Shrug* disney is a jerk but their content creators really know what they're doing.

4302717 Totally agreed with Atlantis... i'll admit I haven't watched sleeping beauty yet. ONly clips.

4302720 XD I see I apparently had good taste and yes, it was a good example of how "advanced" doesn't always mean better. Rourke being a dick actually surprised me... though it was coming. Mulan was... Well I still like it, but my increased knowledge of Chinese hsitory makes me sigh a lot.

4302730 ... Atlantis is really a popular pick eh? And I also liked Treasure Planet too! Aladdin was also a favorite of mine. Though Treasure planet is... a case of good and interesting world, pendantic story.

As for Lilo and Stitch?... never really liked it all that much, i mean it's nice... but its not my taste.

I'm super stoked to see it! I'm trying to convince my siblings to go with me, if all else fails I'll drag the hubby, but I am going to watch that movie. We must have watched the animated one together over 200 times. I can still sing Gaston's song.

As for faves, I'm with you for the most part actually; Atlantis, because of the art and how real the characters are. Lion King, because of the story and as a kid anything with animals --especially lions and hyenas -- and I was there. And Aladdin, because Robin Williams was my hero. Followed very closely by Sleeping Beuty(for Maleficent) and Little Mermaid(because of Ursula) best villains ever. But if I'm honest, I'll watch pretty much all of them and still smile like a kid most of the way through.

4302738 True, but it wasn't intentionally insulting, which is something to be proud of with the track record, even if it did bend it's source to suit a Disney ending

4302738 ...I genuinely forgot Treasure Planet was a Disney film.
Adding that to the list because that movie is something thats inspired my love of alien designs and Science Fiction ship design and the potential freedoms their within.

Atlantis, all the way.

I've alawys just enjoyed the movie for it's witty humor and the tech in it.

Of course, there's also the characters that just make me want to write characters like them. Not exactly like them, but based off of them. Because why waste good sarcasm!

Oh I hope they have Gaston's song in it, that song is one of the few things that my parents and my siblings remember clearly about that movie it is the vary paragon of ego and it makes us laugh each time we hear it.

My favorites are Robin hood(it's a kid friendly version of Mel Brooks' "Robin Hood: Men in Tights":rainbowlaugh:), Atlantis, The Fox and The Hound, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Those old Disney movies were just about all I watched when I was little, and I still have the VHS cassettes.

4302738 Understandable, personally I like it for its Sci-Fi setting, music (helps that they used the King of Rock) and the message of how importent family is, weather you are related by blood or not, plus the series was good as well.

Ugh, the end of the school year is always the worst. "Hey, you're excited to be almost done, huh? It's almost holiday time, a time of giving... so WE'RE going to GIVE you ALL THE WORK!" Seriously, I've got 2 group projects and 3 papers. :pinkiesick:

I can't wait for this movie, either. My high school freshmen year we actually did Beauty and the Beast as our yearly musical, so it holds a special place in my heart.

As for favorite Disney movies... that's hard. Lion King for sure, and Mulan, but other than that...
Honestly, neither of my 2 favorite animated films of all time are Disney. First is The Road to El Dorado. I could probably put the movie on right now and quote the whole thing, despite not having seen it in a few years. Not gonna lie, I once watched it three times IN A ROW.
Second is Alpha & Omega. I don't care how bad the reviews are or what anyone else says, I absolutely adore that movie to pieces, and it's the only movie I've ever actually gone to see twice while it was in theaters.
Also, I'm not the only one that would love to see Lilly and Fluttershy meet, right? They'd both be so adorably awkward and shy!

Emma is my all-time favorite actress. She's the rare celebrity of her generation who can stand tall as a positive role model for today's impressionable youth. Were I ten years younger, I'd probably be crushing. As such, seeing her play Best Princess pleases me greatly.

However, I do worry that this will just end up as a rehash of the original animated feature. The majority of those lines were directly from it, after all. I don't want a rehash, I'd rather this shine on its own.

Eh, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

My favorite is Hunchback of Notre Dame. I just really enjoyed the music and animation. It also has one of the more realistic and frightening villains.
Here is a really good cover for Hellfire

Mulan, Atlantis, Lilo and Stitch, Aladdin, Treasure Planet, Fantasia, Jungle Book. I could go on but I have a BIG sorting of favorite Disney films.

My favorites were "Vren writes without needing to be egged on." It's a fictional tale, but one can dream.
