Wannabe Scholar

Just an idiotic amateur who likes to read (and sometimes write) and is more interested in the fandom than the actual show... that's not strange, is it?

I'll need help (possibly another writer for this story)

Hi guys. What with Trump's presidency about to happen, I am trying to get as much stuff done as I can before anything happens. One story is, of course, The Seven Legendary Kamen Ponies.

Of course, to get such a huge project done alone is impossible, and I'll need help. I'll see if I can post it on a thread to let anyone know.

    Hiatus from Fimfiction.net

Hello. I'm just putting out there that I'm taking a break from Fimfiction.net for a while because a lack of interest in writing my stories (which has caused LONG delays in chapter updates), and I just haven't been invested in the fandom recently. Plus, I'm going to be busy with my job, so we'll see how that goes (and if I can tweak my schedule a bit). I don't know when I'll be back, but I do hope

Okay, let me start out saying this: I am Muslim...

[insert screaming people as they either run away in terror or shout at me]

Being Muslim, there's a certain bit of stuff that can happen. My family and I dealt with it post-9/11, albeit we were far better off than most. Anyway, Trump's president, and this is scary to pretty much a lot of non-whites, and in this case Muslims, due to Trump's proposed policies to register Muslims and ban Muslim immigrants from entering the USA. Now, I didn't get involved in the election, I didn't support either Hillary or Trump, or even vote (you may criticize me on that all you want, but please, if you're still reading, listen). Needless to say, I am... a bit petrified of him being president.

My parents, who came into the US in the 80s (I was born in the 90s), think that this will be like the anti-Islamic sentiments during the Bush administration. My mom worked with the government until "her paperwork was lost," and my older brothers received crud in school.

However, this might be worse. With news of Muslim women being attacked by Trump supporters after the election and the Muslim immigrant ban returning to Trump's website, there are Muslims who are undoubtedly terrified. It doesn't exactly help with KKK's announcement of celebrating outside of the White House on Trump's inaugural day. With fears building up, it is horrifying to imagine what would happen in Trump's four years as presidents (or worse, eight years).

If Trump had just said he would focus his attention on just fighting ISIS, then that would have been fine. However, he has called for bans, and registration of Muslims because of the possibility of terrorism. Now that he's president, he is capable of doing that with a Republican-backed Congress and Supreme Court there to help him (not to mention questionable choices for the Cabinet). What is perhaps more frightening is that if Trump doesn't do anything, his supporters might do something (as mentioned in the aforementioned news of attacked Muslims women).

My oldest brother came to me last night, saying that, if anything should happen-if there's any racist remarks, any attacks, any harassment at my job or my dad's job, he wants me to put him "in the line of fire," and to get my family and myself to safety.

Let me say that again: My BROTHER told ME to PUT HIM in THE LINE OF FIRE if anything goes bad, whether it would be harassment, lawyers, or even gunfire. He is willing to sacrifice himself for the safety of our family.

Of course, he only said for that to happen in the worst case scenario, and I pray that will not happen. Yet, the threat is still there for us. We can still be deported, be registered, and heck even be put into internment camps-and that worked oh so well the last time, right?

At the same time, as much as I want to hate on Trump and supporters (and curse the parts of the country who allowed this to happen), I also turn my rancor to ISIS and Al-Qaeda. They are the reason why Muslims are getting this nonsense. Thank you ISIS. Thank you for ruining everything for the Muslims just to satisfy your own selfish, pitiful goals. I hope on the Day of Judgment, Allah will give you all the most horrible punishment ever imaginable.

Anyway, I've gone on this too long. If anyone doesn't see anything from me, don't be surprised (then again, I haven't updated anything in a while). Stay safe everyone.
