Okay...rant time...and other things...

Allright...lemme pull this here soapbox over; I got something to say...

Regarding, "A Visit By Sunset Shimmer"...

I've been hit by two readers that disagree with my tagging the story with "Crossover"...

And probably will be hit with it many more times.

Now...my normal reaction to such things, at MY age, which is considerable, is to tell the individuals in question to figuratively get bent; MLP: FiM and MLP: EqG are two separate, distinct franchises, with occasional CROSSOVERS between them by two characters.

Simple, easy, quick. The showrunners, when asked the question about it, say the exact same thing. And (SPOILER), Sunset Shimmer herself says the exact same thing to Flash Sentry in MLP: EqG "Legend of Everfree", just as she punches him in the arm.

Soooo...until Lauren, Jayson, Mitch, or Jim, or their sucessors in the future, (hopefully a VERY LONG TIME in the future) say different...the "Crossover" tag stays right where it is...

Somebody wants different; write your own story...

Now, on to more pleasant things...

Some of you may notice, I don't do clop or gore. I do describe horror events that may be part of a story, though...just as I sometimes point out that ponies don't wear clothes usually.

I don't want to take an "easy" path in writing. I can certainly go the "...and then they f*cked..." way in stories, but I find the challenge of getting clothing that looks like what the girls wear in EqG on to a group of ponies fitting my pistol better. Not to mention describing those clothes to Rarity to have her create them...

One story that rides the ragged edge of this is "Two mares walk into a bar...", which was a cussfest. An idea that we came up with on Semper Filly and the Sophiecabra picture that's included with the story, "Mares" explores what Celestia might do when boredom, fustration, and lack of companionship and intimacy finally gets to one Benevolent Light In The World.

The other is "Spitfire's Callsign". A horrifically embarassing moment for the Captain of the Wonderbolts. And a reason why she whispered her nickname to Rainbow Dash...

I also try to flesh out characters in a more complete and mature way. I have frequently pointed out in stories that although I dont write sex scenes, our ponies are certainly aware of the anatomical features and differences between mares and stallions. They just value their privacy regarding intimacy.

They drink. Not usually to excess, though. Some of them are connoseurs. AJ certainly is, as a producer of cider. RD would be, given her love of the stuff. The idea that Celestia is not a "morning pony" just breaks me up.

They have definite opinions. They make mistakes, sometimes bad ones. And sometimes they are just who they are.

And they can be obsessive.
