    UK Elections

    Congratulations, Brits.

I was rooting for the Elmo cosplayer, but the Trump cosplayer seems nice. The tweet salt is quite fantastic, gonna mine me some for a while.

    The Outer Worlds

I got the game because it looked like the Fallout fix I needed. Obsidian, who made New Vegas, made it. It looked like Space Fallout and had a lot of similarities. Waited for the Black Friday sale, then grabbed it for $48. Thanks for the holiday, you turkey-eating Americans.

Congratulations on your new president.

He seems like a nice guy.

Welcome to the greatest show on Earth.

:ajbemused: I sense snark!

I'm from the Northeastern US, and honestly most people I know are ambivalent about the whole thing.
We are just sitting back and observing the reactions from both sides tear across the globe.

On the plus side public radio has been really on point since last night. Lots of discussions and analysis of the situation, there really is a lot to digest. I'm pretty interested in examining the final exit polls data myself. I'm curious what it might reveal.

For better or for worse one must remember that the more things change, the more they stay the same.

The internet just turned into a wonderland. Around every corner there are fountains of salt, shining shimmering splendid.

I don't know what else a Trump presidency means, but he's pissed off the right people so far.

As a guy who lives as central as you can get. And as country as you can get. I don't think much will change for me.

That means I get the popcorn...

The salt flows freely, and he who controls the salt, controls the universe.

As a person of color and a member of the LGBTQ community, I have become a second-class citizen of the U.S.A. Everything that I have worked so hard to build for myself has been destroyed.

Damn right. Donald Trump is assembling his jack-booted right-wing death squads to knock on your door right now.

4296223 I don't appreciate the sarcasm, it's legitimately scary. The things he says are going to become commonplace, and xenophobic and racist attitudes are settling in with his supporters. It's not Trump who will cause everything to change for me. It's the shift in power that's gonna fuck everybody up. I'm going to guess you aren't American, so I understand why you don't quite get how this affects me, but it does, and it's huge. For one, I'm gonna have to go back into the closet because now my parents have the Trump administration backing them. For another, the biases toward the color of my skin are coming back full force. I'm just WAITING for some white person to say some shit, so I can start throwing hands. This is very real. If you think it isn't a problem then you've got another think coming.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be sarcastic. I was going for mockery.

You've bought in too much on the stories about Trump being this emperor of evil. My favorite is Laci Green's line in her Trumpocalypse video. "Trump has given a voice to unspeakable darkness." Damn, I didn't know you elected Sauron for president. Sign me up for a green card.

You're not about to be electro-shocked (just make sure Trump doesn't die) and you're not in for the stupid white-lash that the race baiters are talking about.

Here, shoeoffhead will do a far better job than me at this.

Marry me.

For the most part it's the young college kids that are over reacting. Its understandable as many have never been fooled by the mass media machine to this degree before.

Only 57% of eligible voters did so, despite this being such an important election. This will stand as a stark reminder to people that social media isn't a ballot box.
