So, yeah. I've been in the dark for a while here and I just wanted to keep you guys up to speed on what and how I've been doing.
School is hard, like, really hard. At the end of the day, when I would usually sit down to write, I usually exhausted. This is the first year in 3 years that I haven't participated in NaNoWriMo, and that would have pushed my word count above and beyond 150,000 for memoirs.
Well, I'm kinda bored of writing right now. It's a lot of work, that much is obvious, and on top of that, it's just not as fun as it used to be for me. I want it to be, I really do, but if I sit myself down and try to grind out another chapter, I feel even more exhausted than when I started. Writing is an outlet for me, not a way of life. That said, I'm not stopping Memoirs, nor am I going to say it's on hiatus. It's still in active development, and who knows, I might end up using this extra hour today to figure out what happens after this fog.
Well, I haven't stopped creating things. In fact, I've ventured into another form of story telling. Many of you know I was working with the game development studio A Little Bit Different on a game called Ambient.Prologue. While I am no longer part of that group, citing the same situation as above, I have been working on a small game of my own. It's not much, in fact it doesn't even have an established name yet. I'm still trying to work out if this will work with VR or if I'm even capable of taking on such a task, but a few days ago, I made a radio tower segment in blender, exported it into Unreal, and wrote a handful of code that used the modular piece and a cable component to make a radio tower however long I wanted. It's cool, it's engaging...
I'm not really sure why I'm telling you this, I guess I'm letting you know that I'm doing other stuff for the time being. I'll be back, refreshed, and I'm going to finish Memoirs.
