When trying to clean anything cast iron, such as a skillet or cauldron, try cleaning it with a little salt and a old rag. After rinsing it off, place it over a nice, hot fire to get rid of any water. That will keep it from rusting.
When it is clean, season it with a thin layer of oil. Now it's ready for your next victim meal.
Hey Pinkie Pie, have you seen Spike? I want to try a new recipe, and he will be a perfect "helper".
... Do I even want to ask
Cool, I did not know that. Also...don't use soap in them either; it could leave residue that is hard to get out and makes food cooked in it have a soapy flavor...personal experience
That is a good trick, but one that most kitchens tend to use is this one. Taking a damp cloth and wiping out what had been cooked in it while it is still hot. I've done that countless times and it does the same job.
