I saw an opportunity, and I seized it. And TECHNICALLY, Red is the Gen 1 champion. Personally, I think it would be an ultimate test of skill, and a walk down memory lane for us old timers to have a gauntlet of all the champions, from Blue all the way to whatever passes for the Champion in a region with no gyms.

Personally, I don't think Sun and Moon will have a "Champion". Okay, maybe it will at the end of the post game because it was HEAVILY hinted that we could do a psudo league challenge what with the Alolan Pokemon League being constructed and all, but that's not my point.

My point is that I think Sun and Moon's final boss will be heavily related to the story of the game, much like Black and White's final boss Ghetsis. I don't know who or what that might be, but all I know is that if there ain't no champion then we're getting something story-related, bruh! Maybe that gigantic Ultra Beast that was leaked just last week?
