My Absence the Past Year

Greetings dear readers, this is BladeSpark. If you could read the title of this little blog, or you saw the explanation I posted in Chapter 9 of Battle for Equestria, you'll know that I am here to explain my absence the past year.

So I won't beat around the bush and I'll just start listing off the reasons for my absence.

The biggest one for me has simply been a lack of motivation. It has been a challenge the past year actually getting myself to sit down at my computer and actually write anything. This in and of itself is a combination of several other factors that have gone on in my life the past year.

The biggest contributor to this was my housing situation. Up until the this past summer I had been living in a house with three other roommates for two years. If you've ever had roommates, you know that is not easy. It becomes even more unbearable when two roommates are dating each other, get drunk practically every day of the week, fight so much it becomes unbearable, and basically act like those white trash couples you see on Jerry Springer.

Now I am man enough to admit I also caused my own share of problems while I was living there. Most of those problems had to do with my anxiety, which I have thankfully gotten a better handle on in the past few months. After a while things eventually reached a breaking point, which ended with me essentially getting kicked out/choosing to move out.

Now before you start getting worried, know that I am fine and currently living on my own in my own apartment. Which is probably the best decision I have made in the past year.

Anyway, in addition to living with horrible roommates, I changed jobs twice in the past year, which just added to the stress of everything.

Couple that with dealing with the passing of my paternal grandfather and the resulting fallout that happened with my father's side of my family, finishing my Associates in English, and generally having a crisis of what do with my life after college, and what you get is me becoming a giant ball of stress and nerves that can't focus on hardly anything.

Now thankfully, the past few months have been much better for me. A I stated earlier, I am currently living on my own and have gotten a much better handle on my anxiety and stress. In all honesty, I feel so much better than I have a long time. I actually have more time and energy to write these days and just feel like a better person all together.

Now, one final thing I should mention is this. Since I have been feeling better, I have gotten more energy to write. However, most of my energy is now going towards something else.

At the current time, I am in the process of writing my first novel that I intend to get published to further my career as a writer. Now so far I have only gotten the first chapter done, but that i just the beginning. I am going to be pouring the majority of my creative energy and thought into this story, so I will regrettably not have as much time to devote to my stories here.

However, I am going to now make a more conscious effort to come out with chapters more frequently than once a year. I don't have a set schedule, but I will get it done.

Well I hope you could make that schedule quick, because some of us prefer you to update chapters of your story quicker, especially battle for Equestria.
