My Thoughts on Mafia 3 and Gears of War 4 · 11:24am Oct 15th, 2016
After being offline for a week. I manage to complete both Mafia 3 and Gears of War 4. So I decided to give you guys my thoughts on both games. So let's begin.
Mafia 3 Thoughts
When I saw the trailer of this game last year. I thought it would be an okay game. I have played Mafia 2 and the one thing I disliked with it is that, for an open world game. You didn't have a whole lot of freedom to do what you want. Sure you can change Vito's clothes and buy guns. But there wasn't any side quest at all. The game kinda forced you to do the story missions. So I thought Mafia 3 would share the same fate. But after seeing E3 gameplay footage of it. I slowly started to get more interested in it.
The story is your typical revenge plot, but the cutscenes the characters and the environment is quite interesting. In my opinion. Mafia 3 feels like a movie Quentin Tarantino would make. The gameplay plays like any other third-person shooter but aside from that, the combat is really good. To where when you have to go to a place to kill someone. You can go in loud and guns blazing. But, you can also kill that person without ever getting notice by the enemies and in my opinion. That's good because, there are gamers out there who would go in loud or go in quietly. So it's nice to know that the game has different play styles for different people. All in all I think Mafia 3 is a good game, I highly recommend it to any gamer.
Gears of War 4 Thoughts
Before I get to what I think of Gears of War 4. I just want to say. I've been a fan of the Gears games since 2008, all the gears games have been quite outstanding. (Except for Gears of War: Judgment) So when I saw E3 gameplay of Gears of War 4 in 2015. I was kinda skeptical about it. I felt like they were going to milk the franchise like what 343 Industries did with Halo.
But after seeing the trailers and gameplay of it in mid 2016. I was was looking forward to playing it. I liked how the game had a dark and gritty tone to it, like in Gears of War 1. The campaign is interesting and it has some good surprises here and there and a really good twist at the end. The multiplayer is still the same as from the previous Gears of War games. The Horde Mode in Gears of War 4 is a much better improvement from Gears of War 3's. To where you can pick different classes like soldier, sniper, engineer and scout. Each having different skills for each class. Overall Gears of War 4 is an good game and I can't to see what The Coalition have in stores for this new saga of Gears of War.
