    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

    Horizon: Forbidden West (PC Version)

    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

They Exclusively Suck · 12:35pm Oct 11th, 2016

Well, fortunately, in the opening months of VR hitting the gaming market, the actions of these VR companies (not gonna lie, mainly Oculus) has only pushed me farther and farther away from even wanting to try one of these things. A recent interview with Oculus dealing a lot with exclusives really rubbed me the wrong way.

VR exclusives. Think about that. Say Asus made a game, and then said, "Oh yeah, this is only going to be able to be played on our monitors."

Tell me every single gamer worth their salt wouldn't be bitching up a storm. Because that's what it is, essentially. You can't play specific games depending on what screen you have strapped to your head.

Anyways... Got this baby installed last night. Protip, don't attempt hardware installations on a 30-minute break.

But despite being installed directly above the 970, it adds nearly no heat to the case. Either that or my fans are continuing to kick all kinds of ass.

So we're about 80% ready for Extra Life. Have to get a few friends to come to some test streams to help me tweak audio levels, make sure everything's smooth. We're thinking about adding a Yeti mic to the desk. Depending on when I work, I might do a countdown to Titanfall 2. But truth be told, I'm probably working. These increased hours are kicking my ass, but I certainly can't argue with the paycheck. That's why that capture card is in my rig right now.

I think Jim Sterling put it best by describing them as, and I quote, "Privilege Goggles".

Notice how anything vaguely technological or advanced these days glows blue? I honestly don't get why.

4251228 It looks good in a dark room.

Because glowing Red makes it look evil, glowing orange and yellow makes it look rusty and old, glowing green makes it look alien (which works sometimes too) and indigo/purple tends to sting on the eyes a bit, white is boring, and black is are you stupid?

Blue sorta has been the goto color for "FUTURE" and Good guy colors.

Oh and the fact that right now, VR sets are really expensive, kinda clunky with all the wires and shit, and prone to causing a number of people motion sickness/eye strain is just not going to endear it to a lot of people.
