A Light In The Dark · 5:47pm Oct 9th, 2016
Jamie looked out into the dark and vast sky, starless. She sighed, the stars had always provided comfort whenever her anxieties crushed her. She peered out into the blackness, not a single one. She wondered why they weren't shining, it was plenty dark, and the sun had gone down long ago. She lay down on her sleeping bag and slept shakily, for it was cold. Jamie woke up several hours later to a loud clunking noise. She looked around to find here the 'clunk' had come from. Her eyes rested on a hill in her yard she hadn't seen before, it had eyes. The hill rose up on six bear-like paws, and the 'hill' was a spiky turtle-like shell. The hill it's self had a lion's head, with a thick mane, and a long snake tale trailed behind him. his eyes shone like the stars that were no-longer in the sky. The Lion-Thing spoke, "I am Tauryne Of The Dusk, and you have found me." Jamie fell backwards in shock as padded over to her, practically on-top of her. Jamie squeaked, "w-what are you?" Tauryne looked at her with his starry eyes, "I am a Tarrasque, though not like the one in this, 'dungeons and dragons' of yours, i am the dragon from Irish lore." he rumbled. Jamie remembered such a thing, in the game she played occasionally, but she hadn't played in years. Jamie spoke after a while, "where are the stars?"
Tauryne sighed, "I fear that the darkness had swallowed them whole, I will give up my eyes, which are made of trillions of stars, and i will give them back to the sky." And so he did, He looked into the sky and roared in pain as his eyes turned into a liquid that poured out into the sky, and the droplets shone just like the stars did. And Tauryne had dissipated completely. He had given up his whole self for the sky.
