In two days on October 5th it's going to be the two year anniversary of when A Scratch On Shining Armor was first published to Fimfiction! A truly depressing milestone since I basically took a year off from the story. It's also a happy day because it's a story i'm very proud of and hope that it stays in people's hearts and minds long after it's finished.
So, in honor of a milestone I figured I would give out a few little fun facts about the story!
1. The first chapter was originally written in its entirety on May 9th, 2013. So technically the story itself is already three years old!
2. The original idea was to have Shining and Vinyl be long lost siblings! Makes the current direction of the story a tad creepy, huh?
3. Scootaloo was going to be Glory's daughter in early drafts, but once I calculated Twilight's age compared to SCootaloo's, I decided it wasn't possible.
4. Uncle B was inspired by my friend Mytho's (He did the cover art for ASOSA) impressions. The old cranky man from the Bronx really stuck with me.
5. Weirdly enough, Cadance is one of my favorite Princesses. I wanted to portray her in a good light, but the story wouldn't let me.
6. Vinyl's attitude of alcoholic cynicism was inspired heavily by Jessica Jones, both from the comics and the Netflix show.

I don't remember when I started following A Scratch on Shining Armor, but I just wanted to say congratulations for keeping it up over two long years and thanks for writing such an enjoyable story.
