State of the Author, and Announcements on Followup Stories · 3:22am Sep 30th, 2016
So, if you haven't noticed, my updates have kinda been all over the place.
This is because I just recently became a Masters of Arts Student in History in London, Ontario and am trying to study/work my butt off so I can stay nice and ahead and hopefully get my research papers (long and short) done and finished, as well as keep on top of my readings.
Thing is, I can still finish ECQ&tAE its just I'm still trying to find my stride though everything has settled down so I can find time to write. Its just that I'm trying to incorporate some long term planning regarding my assignments and it's not that easy. I also have some more time due to not having not to clean up the entire dorm, and only really needing to go shopping. I'm also eating fairly well. Independence so far has suited me alright. I'm just still trying to find that balance of work vs. need to relax and chill vs. job.
Now, regarding the Alternia-tive verse. ECQ&tAE is going to be finished soon and I will have a sequel to it. A final actual story in the Alternia-tive verse that follows up on it. No comment as to what it will be but it's going to be slice of life, and romance, and will be primarily based on characters who survive reacting to the aftermath of ECQ&tAE and the MLP canon season events.
Furthermore, to really give more perspective and explanation on the events in ECQ&tAE that have driven some people nutty, Zervziel suggested to me to create a side-story journal called "Samudra's Journal." This journal details Tethys's rise to power, her origins, and Samudra's descent into... basically madness, while giving more information on the Old Gods. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

As much as I love your story Vrenn, school, and personal health take priority. Take as much time as you need.
I'm happy to hear that you are planning at least one sequel. There was a time there where you made the statement that The Abyssal Empress would be the end of the line due to a very outspoken few. Part of me would love to read Samdura's journals; the other part realizes that she was a frigging monster and whatever she had to say would likely be... disconcerting to read, even if it was essentially a very long one-shot or a short multi-chaptered fic.
Excellent news great work on your achievements and I am very excited to hear that a sequel is planned.
Keep your focus on the real world, but always keep a little pony-shaped bit of slack to keep you loose.
School sucks, bro. Finding balance is tough.
And I wanted to ask, will we ever be getting an update on Of Swords and Hearts?

4233209 Unfortunatley I've run out of steam and interest for that story... mainly because I realized that while the plot and characters are nice, the plot also makes no logical sense...

Another day, another favourite author turning out to be a fellow canuck.
One of these days, I really need to see if there's a statistically significant correlation between Canadian-ness and the aspects of writing that earn a place near the top of my faves list.
