Glimpsing the Future? Be Considerate. · 2:58pm Sep 29th, 2016

A public service announcement for all and sundry: In case you haven't heard, the UK apparently thought Brazil airing Legend of Everfree was the best idea ever, because the British channel that airs MLP is showing the last four episodes of Season 6 early, one a day from October 5th through 8th.

(Note: I thought it was this very weekend, but that was a bad case of me not looking too closely and reporting my mistaken recollections. Good to know it's not quite as bad as it could be. :applejackunsure: Thanks for setting me straight, Ultra.)

I'm not happy about this, not least because it means either binging on what was supposed to last another month or tiptoeing around a spoiler minefield for most of October. I may end up going with the former just to make things easier on myself, but if I do, I'll still stagger Friendship is Card Games blogs for the Sunday after each given release.

For everyone who does decide to go for the binge, please be considerate of those who choose not to. Especially with regards to the finale. Whatever happens, keep your discussion spoiler-blocked or under the page_break tag with suitable warnings above it.

Thank you, and have a nice day.

The fact that this is a thing Hasbro is allowing to happen.

The hell? Seriously?

Wow...we, brasilians, are responsible for that !?

Discovery Kids, the channel the airs the show here, is not very organized with those things. When I discovered that we would air Legends before almost the rest of the world was a huge surprise. DK barely manages to show the episodes in the right order, and there are, even, some episodes htat were never aired, for whatever reason.

Go figure.

Although on the plus side, this probably means that all episode responses will be written a week or so ahead of time, so they might actually be good this month.

4232350

Who are you kidding? The majority of episode responses are gonna be as rushed as ever, released across Spoiler Week, and they're gonna dominate the feature box with spoilers right in the titles. You should expect nothing less from FimFiction.

4232350
A good author can write an episode response fic without ever having had seen the episode.:trollestia:

4232364 I believe the word you meant to use just before author was 'incredibly shit and biased', and after the word author, 'who seems to take every opportunity to lambast and hate on the show they supposedly enjoy'.

Yeah, while I've held off on Everfree and won't be watching it until Saturday, this...thing the UK is doing...it's going to make October pure hell for those of us who live and breathe this site.

So it's gonna be impossible to deal with that, so pretty much gonna watch 'em as they become available. And then legally on DFC as they air. *sigh* What the hell is Hasbro thinking?

(Of course, Canada pulled this same shit on France with season one of Miraculous Ladybug...and the uS STILL hasn't gotten the full season...)

4232369
It's a question of what you want to accomplish. I wrote both my Sonata fics before watching the movie, basically just using memes I'd seen for research.

4232372 Yes, but Sonata's a lucky character in that basically all of her character traits got meme-ified. You don't miss anything if you only absorb the memes.

But this isn't an approach that you can apply to the season finale.

4232361

You should. It's a sad thing.

4232349
I never meant to imply actual responsibility on the part of Discovery Kids. That was just me being silly. Sorry. :twilightsheepish:

4232375 On one side of the coin, possible pony overload, and a massively skewed timetable of fandom attention spans. And if this is the last season, you can combo all of this with the views dropping like a monsoon.

On the other side, a minefield that basically means you have to unfollow everyone who responds to new episodes, and you also have to avoid the feature box, and basically scroll past every single comments section and not read any new stuff for weeks.

...

Call it in the air?

"this weekend"?? :rainbowderp:

Are you more up-to-date than me??? :rainbowhuh:

According to Equestria Daily (Warning, screencaps include episode-descriptions!), I thought the whole mess was starting on October 5th with episode 23, and then release another one every following day, on what in the UK is 8 am in the morning. :facehoof:

Aka, 9am for me in Germany. And midnight in the US, I guess. On a weekday. :applejackconfused:

Well, at least they do two re-runs (1pm and 4:30pm respectively, UK-time) of the episodes, if their 2-day (!!) advance TV-program on their website is any indication.

From what else the channel is showing - namely, also episodes from season 2 and season 4 alongside season 6, they have no idea what they're doing. :facehoof:

...Well, of course they don't. :ajbemused:

This is going to be a mess, for a number of reasons. :ajbemused:

I actually hope Hasbro stops TinyPop before they start airing. :unsuresweetie:

. . . Now, about that "this weekend"-statement you made.......? :rainbowhuh:

4232381 Sorry for what ? Relax, I understood your point....:rainbowwild:

4232419
That is entirely my bad, based on not paying close enough attention to the news and filling in the blanks myself. You know, the usual way one generates misinformation over the Internet. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Lemme just call everyone back in...

4232339 4232340 4232349 4232358 4232364 4232371
Okay, guys, good news and bad news. The good news is that Spoilergeddon isn't this weekend. The bad news is that it starts this coming Wednesday. Thanks go to Ultra the HedgeToaster for correcting my gaff.

. . .

"Yay! Blurry 360p season 6 finale with desynced audio! Wooo! And less chances of a season 7 (or other future pony-content) we aren't really expecting anyway! Yaaay" :unsuresweetie::trixieshiftleft:

I can see this hurting us in the long run, and I'm wondering if we should try contacting Hasbro about this.

To quote Equestria Daily:

There is a chance that someone at Hasbro will see this and swap the episodes out, but if pre-existing deals can't be changed, it's looking like our countdown timer will be shifting to accommodate these.

Maybe the spoiler-pocalypse can still be averted? I mean, October 5th... That's still a few days off... Eheheh. Hehehehe. ehehe...... sigh. :derpyderp1: :ajsleepy:

Of course, on the flip-side, with the track-record this season, the next leak could be in a different language... :twilightoops:

I know I'm going to try and wait for the proper airing times. Which means I'm going to see a lot of spoiler cover images on Derpibooru for a long while.

I hate the way they're releasing these episodes too. I'll binge-watch them this week if I can somehow manage to catch them before they're taken off Youtube. Otherwise I'll most likely wait and watch them on Netflix. If the latter happens, I'll probably cave and read at least some spoilers since a month or two is a long time to be out of the loop about the season finale.

Dammit. I've typically tried to avoid spoilers for MLP, but my track record for actually staying true to that is rather bad. Especially when it comes to other franchises. Ending for Halo 3 is leaked on YouTube a week before launch? Oh man, I was so on that. Video pops up showing Dominic Santiago dying in Gears of War 3 a few days before release? Yeah, watched that. Proceeded to not have any emotional impact when I finally got to play the level.

I dunno. I was younger then. I had far less restraint. Since then I've learned spoiling stuff kills that emotional impact you get when that moment finally arrives. But that urge is still there to find out what happens before most anyone else.

Uhh... randomly, how many episodes are left in the season? :twilightsheepish:

4232977
Five, counting the one that will air this Saturday.

4232434 So... I've got... uh, confusing news;

I just checked Tiny Pop's website for their TV-program (which apparently ONLY becomes available each Saturday for the weekend + next week thereafter), and...

Well...

Clearly, something has changed.

Because the TV-program on their website doesn't have episode s6e23 and s6e24. :ajsmug:

It goes straight from 22 on Tuesday, some reruns of season 6's first episodes on Wednessday, to s6e25 and s6e26 on Thursday and Friday, respectively. With re-runs on both Saturday and Sunday each. :pinkiecrazy: :twilightoops:

Uhhhh.... whut? :rainbowderp:

Maybe it's wrong? :rainbowhuh:

So, either... they're leaking the season finale and NOT the episodes leading up to it, or their TV-program is false, and they're either leaking ALL or NONE of the remaining episodes.

...Or - pure random thought on my part (!) - it was some sort of compromise Hasbro made with them. Who knows, maybe TinyPop already had started advertizing the season finale, and couldn't back out now, or something?? :twilightoops:

As I predicted: A mess. :facehoof:

...As a side-note, please note I do not live in the UK. All I did was visit their website, and read Equestria Daily's earlier article from a few days ago, so take anything you can't confirm yourself with a grain of salt. :derpyderp2:
