Record Offer: Connie Francis (1985) · 11:43pm Sep 26th, 2016

My own cleaning lady's favourite artists - Connie Francis - appears in this commercial for two as-seen-on-TV albums: Treasury of Love Songs and Sentimental Favorites (I recently got the latter on cassette; my copy does not have the jewel case or liners that came with it however). These albums were assembled from (English-language) recordings she did for MGM Records, and were released by Suffolk Marketing, Inc., who did notable as-seen-on-TV albums (and infomercials!) with similar vocalists, such as Jim Nabors and the late great Slim Whitman.

Connie Francis (born Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero, December 12, 1938) is an American pop singer and the top-charting female vocalist of the late 1950s and early 1960s. Although her chart success waned in the second half of the 1960s, Francis remained a top concert draw. Connie has overcome a multitude of interruptions in her career and continues to perform (and record) to this day. The opening part of the ad above is correct for the era; today, Connie ranks second only to Madonna as far as the ranking of ''Highest Selling Female Recording Artist'' goes, an impressive feat for vocalists like her.
