Every Little Thing She Does, various thoughts · 5:43pm Sep 24th, 2016

Well, this was an interesting one. I'm glad the writers remembered Starlight is supposed to be one of the focal girls, now, at least. I feel like the episode was a bit late for the kind of conflict it had, but I feel there are some stuff worth noting. With that, unto my thoughts~

—This is the most magic theory I've ever seen in the series, and we still don't know how magic works in practice, seeing as we hear no incantation, and have never had characters explain how they work. I'm really interested in knowing how blending spells works.:3 And I guess her studying is how they're justifying her absence. I just hope they'll use her properly and more often now. More on magic, if Twilight's training session is not planned, then in order for Starlight to be able to follow Twilight through her teleportation test, it means that this spell leaves a residue that can be tracked.
— Starlight has anxiety attacks in general, confirmed. I feel inclined to point out that possibly means she, like Twilight, is somewhere on the autism spectrum.:rainbowkiss: And her break really, really makes me believe she may have some underlying issues, thus why Sunburst abandoning her hurt so much, and why she's so bad at coping, otherwise. These are her first genuine friends in a long while, after all. Her magic must have been some sort of security blanket, as anything that doesn't involve it seems to scare her. Pretty much, Starlight needs friends. Autism is also a possibility, given a certain bearded character's input on the episode, which I think makes sense. She's got her thought processes and security blankets that might not make sense to others.
—Speaking of friends, I'm curious where Trixie is at. We don't know where she lives, or if she's still travelling or not. More Trixie, please!
—I watched this episode through a video that for some reason had everything slightly grey-scale. That made things feel rather melancholic. It certainly added to the nightmare fuel that is the puppet main girls.
—Starlight really is in the place Twilight was at the start of the series, isn't she. I wonder what that might mean for Twilight's own growth?
—I can't help but feel this essentially somewhat dealing with drugs and alcohol-abuse related issues. I mean, magic hangovers. Hangovers. It's almost like Starlight invited them over to a party and spiked the drinks because she was afraid the party wouldn't be interesting if she didn't do something like that.
—AJ was particularly hilarious this episode.
