Writing on my two longer stories has just stopped - not long enough to call it a hiatus, but long enough I thought I'd admit it. Partially it's my natural tendency when I have energy to not how to direct it, which means I do too many things at once. Partially I have actually hit a snag in one place.
In "Under The Northern Lights" Vigg the reindeer was just about to tell the story of Sampo - or maybe "a" story. There will be four times you hear THE story of Sampo before the story is finished: this time, a fairy tale from Tarandroland, Luna's personal memories of the whole affair, and Spike's comic book (not illustrated, sadly). This one was meant to be written sort of in Icelandic saga style, because that is what Vigg was forced to memorize in school, with some interruption by Spike to ask what he is talking about, cultural and temporal walls (we are talking over a thousand years, here) being what they are. And I can't get that story-within-a-story to work. I might have settling for Vigg retelling it, but it doesn't sit fine with me.
Cloudy With A Chance Of Larceny will probably updated next because of this. I have a dialogue with a woodpecker that takes effort, and it will be hard to not reveal the plot to the readers before Rainbow Dash and her friends get it, but otherwise I am fine with it.
Anyway, so now you know, you probably single person who read this blog.
