2: patches. It MAY be to late for the first encounter of him. But in the cathedral of the deep there's, near where you would see the giants, there's an elevator on the left side. Take it and you'll see someone who appears to be Siegward the union knight. He'll trick you and try to pin you against a giant. If you make it that far I'll continue.
3: Orbec. In the crucifixion woods, in the fortress leading to where you battled the crystal wizard. There's a sorcerer in the second floor. He will only come with you if you have 10 or higher intelligence.
