To think, years ago, here I was sitting in a high chair and watching my big sister's old My Little Pony VHS cassette tapes, and now here I am, 27 years old, watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic!
I personally feel it is a great thing that of all those old 80s properties, this is the one that's somehow had its resurgence and surged hard! Hard enough to catch the attention of countless fans in their 20s and 30s, men and women who all took this innocent, little children's tv show and turned it into a phenomenon.
Now, everywhere you turn on the net, there's fanart, fanfiction, fan theories, animations, music videos, there's commentators on YouTube who are discovering Ponies and getting into the fandom, there's conventions. It's insane how one little series could generate such a huge following, but that's what great about this! We can see all the movies, all the cartoons, read all the books, but our imagination doesn't stop at the end credits!
We want more, we want people to hear our own interpretations and find other like-minded people who will nod in agreement with us!
I've spent enough of my time on one end of the spectrum, fooling with the Furry Fandom, now I wish to dip my bat wings, (or will it be hooves now?) into the Brony pool.
So this is my sincere hope that I can find my place here among a different community!
