Welp. Laptop's acting up again. · 10:35pm Sep 11th, 2016
It seemed to be better at first when I got it back, but it keeps turning off on me again. Since the guy couldn't make a proper diagnostic last time, it's about time I look into getting a desktop. Might make some adjustments when I get the tower to let me play some good games.
In the meantime, I'll try to use my parents' computer to write stories and send the drafts to the team to proofread/edit, but until I get a new one, it will be a while before I get things rolling at good speed again. I'll be focusing on posting the next UTM and TOWAT chapters though, so be on the lookout. Until next time,

Would you kindly elaborate on the issue? It seems similar to one i have experienced.
4206054 It might be overheat, I don't know. At first it happens when I'm watching videos, but now it turns off even if I left it alone for ~30-45 minutes. It wasn't this bad at first, but now it's just getting out of hand.

Did you all ever consider making sure the thermal paste was in good shape/replaced?
4206083 I don't think he had a chance in taking it apart to take a look, but he didn't feel it getting really hot from what he told me.

I ask because depending on its age it might've dried up and wouldn't be ding a good job anymore.
Also taking it apart and making sure it doesn't have a hairball inside is a good idea. Laptops arent known for being good with their fans.
4206558 I've had it for at least 2-3 years now, so that might be the case. I'll have him take another look.
4206558 Got it back from the shop. He said the thermal paste didn't look bad, but he applied some new stuff anyway. Nothing else really stood out, but he wanted to try to drill holes in the bottom cover to let the air from the fan to vent through. There were some vents already appied, but they were in odd place that didn't look like it would circulate well. Longest it stays up for now is an hour and a half, which I guess is okay, better than before, but I'll be looking into getting a new desktop that he's willing to put together once we get the parts needed.
