I don't really hate him because he hasn't done anything to make me hate him yet, but he also hasn't done much to make me really like him yet, so I'm pretty ambivalent.
I know his description, but I want to see a picture of him.

Given a choice between the two, I'd go with Alto. He seems more like an actual "character" than Flash, who was just there to be a shoe-horned "love interest" for Equestria Twilight, which right there is enough for us thinking fans to dislike him. If you like Flash, no hate towards you, but honestly I think he was one of the dumbest moves Hasbro has ever made in regards to the series.
I like Alto a lot more cause he actually has character. Unlike the blue haired guitarist who was lazily thrown into the story to be a less than average love interest.
I've got nothing against either character.
I like Flash Sentry because he is the only lover of Twilight
And Twilight and Flash is Perfect for each other
Or It can be Thorax and Twilight.
I am good either way, but she sabatoged her relationship from the get-go by making it sensual from day one. Right now he is going to put up with a lot while thinking with his ... shorts. If things progress over time his tolerance for her shallowness is going to wear thin. She has set herself up to make her first crush a rapid X unless it's more than hormones in this relationship. She should know better having been watching humans for so long.
Yeah, alto is developing something of a personality. I mean he technically serves the same role as flash but since the story is still ongoing he can develop as a character. It helps that he isn't such a cliche.
