Hello everypony! I'm glad to say that, after a seven-month absence, I have finally returned. The good news is that my quest was successful: I passed the certification test (with a 94 out of 100) and was able to get a lot of things done. It's nice to be back.
I hope everypony has been doing well. I've managed to keep up with the MLP show while I was gone, but I've fallen behind on everything else.
In my absence, someone sent me a personal message and requested that I write a sequel to my short story The Choice. Since that was the only request I received, that's what I'm going to work on next. If all goes well I'm going to try to start posting chapters next week. I was specifically asked to write a "medium-length story", so I will give that a shot.

I passed the Java SE 8 Programmer 1 exam, which means I am now a certified Java developer. It was a very difficult test (77 questions, two and a half hours long). I probably spent a good 200 to 300 hours studying for it. I even wrote some special software to help me prepare! Now that I've passed it I'm trying to help all my coworkers pass it as well. It's taken a lot of my time.
I'm excited about the prospect of getting back into writing more MLP stories. It's been a while.
