Things Are A Bit Tough At The Moment · 3:55am Sep 6th, 2016

As many people might know, my mom had an accident at work which caused her to shatter her shoulder bones and wrist bones. She had been out of work since April so I've been picking up the expenses and helping out in any way I can.

My mom has been going to physical therapy and regular doctors appointments to get back the movement in her arm and hand. But during one of these appointments we learned that she has Vikings Disease which is a direct cause of her accident, brought about by the sudden trauma she sustained from the fall.

Vikings Disease is an illness which effects the joints (especially in the hands) and causes them to shrivel up, causing the hands and other areas of the body to lose their function. As of right now, this disease has no cure.

I've been trying to help my mom stretch her muscles and stuff when she is not going to physical therapy. I am remaining optimistic that her condition will approve.

Unfortunately, right after she got diagnosed with Vikings Disease, they cut her off of disability payments (related to her accident). So now we are financially behind two or three months.

I've been doing the best I can, working from home (as I have social anxiety, depression, PTSD, agoraphobia, and some other emotional disorders brought on by years of extensive abuse) that prevent me from working out of the home and being around people for extended periods of time.

I am just holding out hope that my mom will get better and am keeping her in my prayers. I know a lot of people won't hire her because of the limited mobility in her arm and hand. They see her as a liability. So they often pass her up for another worker.

With the disability benefits cut off, we are way behind and things have been really hard. But somehow we have made it this far. I am holding put hope that things will change for the better.

Send positive energy, vibes, and prayers to my mom. She needs all the positive energy she can get right now.

I love you all. Stay cool, everyone and have a good evening. I'll be sending positive vibes and energy to you all as well.

*hugs* Sorry to hear that things have gotten worse, I do hope that it gets better before too long. And who in the hell cut off her disability payments?

So sorry to hear about that. :fluttercry: I pray new opportunities may present themselves and that people who might be able to help will be brought into your life soon! Stay strong, and God bless!

4194748 Well, she was getting a check from workman's comp for a few months. But after getting diagnosed with Vikings Disease, she was cut off of receiving living expenses. Probably because Workmen's Comp realized she could potentially be a long term case and wanted to cut their losses while they could.

So now my mom is looking into getting disability through the government/ state seeing as she has limited movement in her arm and hand and now has Vikings Disease on top of that, which is interfering with her ability to find long-term employment.

Meanwhile, things have been really tough because I only make half the rent with my income, and we were able to save up some from her initial disability payments but now we are completely out of backup funds. So we've been selling off everything we have left (which isn't much) and just praying that my mom can find some other employment options.

Meanwhile I've been working as much as I can from home, and just been trying to stay positive about the whole thing. But I've had to help my mom out with a lot of tasks during the day due to her injury and illness so that can sometimes interfere with what I am doing on as I work out of the home. So it has been a balancing act and very stressful. But again I'm just trying to stay positive.

We found a food bank so our food needs are being met. And we are both just working hard to figure out our financial situation and press through.

I'm mostly just worried about my mom's condition but I'm just rubbing her hands/ joints every day and keeping her in my prayers. I'm remaining optimistic that she can get through this. And so can I.

4194764 Have her check her medical, they can't deny her because of this. Also if possible take this to court, as she was injured on the job and they have a god damn obligation to this.

4194758 Thank you so much, my friend. Your prayers mean a lot. I'm sending lots of positive energy and prayers in your direction as well. :)

4194766 She had the physician talk to the workman's compensation people and tell them that she shouldn't even be released for full time work, given her condition.

But even with what the doctor said, my mom was still denied monthly payments for her injury/ developing disease. So that's why we are looking into getting legal help to get her on state funded disability.

In the meantime, however, there isn't much we can do, except both just work as hard as we can to make the bills and get my mom as much help as possible (with doctor visits and such) in-between.

4194769 *hugs* I still hope you make it through and everything starts to get better for the both of you.

I'm so sorry. Have you started a GoFundMe or Patreon yet? That might help a little.

damn. I'm really sorry about things with your mom and stuff. I wish I could somehow help... but for the time being, i'll pray for you guys :fluttercry:

I'm always around if you ever need a chat, or even to just vent.

Wow hope she gets better

Oh my Angel. I am so sorry about what's going on. I'll make sure to pray for you. *Hug*

I'll keep you in my prayers mate. Just remember as bad timed come around, good times are just around the corner, sometimes though, that corner is a rather large one...

Can I ask you a personal question real quick?

4194772 Thank you so much, my friend. That means a lot.

Hope things get better, mate.

4194801 I am not sure. We are just doing everything we can to get my mom on government funded disability and try to fight through this difficult time.

I'm trying to work as hard as I can to bring in some additional income from home and try to stay optimistic about things.

4194804 I have Music Patreon and I do have a GoFundMe account, but I just don't feel comfortable asking people for money woth something like that.

My mom are looking into some other options to revieve emergency funding. If you happen to know of any resources, feel free to pass them along. :)

4194896 Thank you so much, my friend. Your prayers mean a lot to me. I am always here if you need to talk as well. :pinkiehappy:

4194913 I am just trying to keep optimistic that my mom will do better and things will turn out for the good in the end. :)

4194997 Thank you so much for the hugs. Many hugs to you as well. And thank you so much for the prayers. They mean a lot to me. :pinkiehappy:

4195010 Thank you for your the encouraging words, my friend. And sure, you can ask me a question. What's up?

4195120 Thank you very much for the kind words my friend. They mean a lot. :)

4195131 D'awww thank you for your kind words. That is very nice of you to say. Many hugs to you.

4195135 I was wondering, for I get the feeling from you that you aren't saved. Now, I don't mean to get all in you're face with this, and I'm sorry if I have or will.

But, I must say this has been aching in my heart for quite some time now. The question of whether or not you've been saved. You seem to be a Christian, and one who confesses Christ, but what truly matters is if you are saved, which can be seen in 2nd Corinthians 7:9-11

Again mate, I don't mean to get up in you're face, so forgive me if I do, but like I said, this has been bugging me for quite some time. So I implore you, my friend to go and check those scriptures out, and see if it brings anything to you're heart.

4195161 I have been baptized 15 or more times. I actually have a joke about that. I am probably the most saved person you will ever meet. :rainbowlaugh:

I was raised as a Pentecostal Christian and my mom is a Pentecostal Christian pastor, minister, so on with formal Bible college training, in addition to her Master's in marketing.

My mom is still a very devoted pentecostal Christian but my beliefs are a bit more diverse based on spiritual things I've seen (including five or more near death experiences where I literally crosser over into the next plane).

My near death experiences gave me a definite confirmation in the existence or God and an afterlife because I've seen them for myself.

However, because of these encounters, I found that the things I saw in my 'dead' state were a lot different than what a lot of the world religions preach.

So I would consider myself to be someone who has a very deep and passionate belief in God and an afterlife (as I have seen both for myself) but not someone who associates with a traditional religious path as none of them seem to fit in with what I have seen when I crossed over each time.

4195124 I understand it's not comfortable asking for help like this. It feels like you're begging for handouts. But at this point, it's a necessary evil until you two can get some kind of security.

Also, for possible employment, be sure to look into the Goodwill stores in your area. They might be able to help one of you get some steady work. It helped me a lot. I hope it helps you too. If nothing else, they do have good deals on stuff you might need.

4195343 The thing is, because of my emotional disorders, I can't work out of the home. I can't have a face to face interaction with someone without breaking down or passing out. I have PTSD, agoraphobia, social anxiety, depression, and some other emotional and physical disorders that I won't get into. So I can't get a traditional job outside of the home.

Right now I make apps, do web design, sell my art, graphic art, and do other freelance work including selling my writing to different publishing outlets. This helps to make half the rent. But with my mom's injuries and developing illness, it isn't enough to cover everything. So at this point in time, I am just trying to look into other financial support, such as getting my mom on an official disability program which will get her steady financial income. And other types of government funded financial support.

The problem is that the government takes forever to help people, and even though we need the money right now (like we literally might not have a home next month) the government might take up to a year or more to give us the help we need (if we get it all). So this is why we are looking into all sorts of options.

4195356 Well, I guess it was worth a shot. I hope you can get help for all of that somehow. All I know about for sure is that you can apply for SSI or go to the DHS in your state for assistance, but I'm sure you've already considered those. I can't really think of anything else, but if I do, I'll let you know.

Just don't give up. You can get through this.

4195361 Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. They mean a lot to me. I am definitely open to any suggestions. If you happen to have any, feel free to send them my way. Just send positive thoughts and prayers our way. That will help most of all. :)

4195365 I will send some good thoughts your way. Just keep it up. You can do this.

4195382 Hurray! The positive thoughts are very much appreciated. :)

4195180 Good to hear you seem close to God mate. Though I do disagree with a few things about Pentecostal preaching and with woman pastoring (and so does Paul, might I add.) But I'm not about to get into an argument with my friend unless the Lord would have me too.

And I believe you're experiences have happened, though I don't believe quite all of it was realistic. But then again, I didn't live it, so I wont judge it mate.

But I would just like to add one thing, being baptized doesn't make you saved. And I also made a mistake, its 2nd Corinthians 7:9-11, not 1st Corinthians. :rainbowlaugh:

Anyway, please be sure to check those scriptures out mate. Cheers!

4195430 I think people have various beliefs within the Christian faith, depending on how they interpret the Bible. And I don't necessarily think one belief is right or wrong. I think people are just following what they themselves feel is the correct path to follow.

As for me, I know what I have seen in heaven that actually supports women being preachers and having high position in spirituality in general. But not everyone is going to agree with me because they haven't seen the same things in heaven that I have, or had the same spiritual experiences.

I definitely encourage people to seek God about these questions and reach answers for themselves. If they find that they are getting the interpretations that they are, then God must have a reason for it. But God often has different messages for different people, based on their level of knowledge about spirituality and their spiritual maturity in general.

This is why people should always pray to god, strive hear his voice, follow his commands, and most importantly seek spiritual truth for themselves.

So I encourage people to seek answers to the best of their ability and to always get them from the source: God himself. Because the voice of God will never lie. And it will always direct you in the correct path.

4195462 I agree with you mate, on most things.

But, do let me make a evaluation here. Paul states clearly in 1st Timothy 2:8-15 (mainly in verse 12) that woman should not teach in the church. Now, I have nothing against you or you're mother, but I do have to disagree with you here and I do have the Holy scriptures to back me up.

And, though I do believe you experienced something spiritually special, take note that what you saw may have very well been in heaven, where there is no sin. And here on Earth, there is a ripe abundance of sin. So I do believe that there is something about the sin in our hearts that makes for the reason Paul stated this:

But I permit not a woman to teach, nor to have authority over the man, but to be in silence.

Note: its talking about woman being silent in the church.

So, I don't know about you mate, but I'm gonna follow what appears to be the truth. But we each have our own choice, that's why God made us, so I leave you're opinions to you.

4195694 There are actually a good amount of female preachers, judges (which was the highest office at the time), and other important societal and spiritual leaders present in the bible.

There is actually someone who wrote a great deal on this particular topic with biblical references at this link here: http://www.churchexiters.com/category/biblical-equality/

It is long, but very well worth the read.

Some things people need to be aware of regarding both the new and old testaments is that the traditions of the ancient cultures was often put on display in them through the laws and and regulations that existed for those cultures at the time.

God reached out to those people in their own cultures, their own languages, their own religions, and ideologies so that they would know his voice, turn from their sin, and choose to worship him in their own way.

The gospels preach that Jesus hung out with the prostitutes, the lawyers, the poor people, and what was considered to be the lowest forms of society, because even though the world saw them as nothing, Jesus saw the love and goodness in their hearts.

The bible says that Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit do not judge people, but rather their sins. In other words, if someone is lying, stealing, creating disharmony, murdering someone, gossiping, and so forth, they are sinning. Those who create these acts (even gluttony, laziness, or other behaviors that are self-harming or harm other people) are considered to be sins in the eyes of God whether the person is saved or not.

Repentance, admitting to the sin, and turning away from it even DAILY if it is needed, is what washes people of their wrongdoing and shows them as being pleasing in God's eyes.

Now, as for the historical context, at the time the bible and other supplementary materials such as the Torah and other Jewish writings were created, the people were following rules of society and even in various synagogues, cathedrals, and other types of churches that were common for the time.

Yet Jesus came to break these traditions. He constantly berated the churches for their outdated views, their lack of equality between men and women, their refusal to help the poor, the sick, the outcasts, and the forgotten. Because Jesus states many times that he is coming back for the lowest members of society, those who have overcome, those who have been forgotten by the world, and yet still love him and God with all of their hearts.

This is the truth that I have found after much research into this topic over the years, and even visiting many types of religions, having friends who are Hindu, Jewish, Islamic, and other religions, I have been to about every church. None of them were for me, but the love of God was there. And where the love of God is, his presence can be found.

People can agree or disagree. And this is fine. This is just some of the spiritual truth I have found on my own spiritual journey. And I would encourage people to reach out to many different religions, spiritual teachings, and be kind to others so that the love of God can be shared among all of the people in the world.

God's presence leads to truth. The more he shows up, the more people can see his love, his power, and have access to more spiritual maturity and wisdom.

4195766 I agree with you on everything here mate, except woman preaching in the church. Now, I'm not saying that woman can't preach, or evangelize, that I'm saying is that they can't preach or act the pastor in the church.

There are actually a good amount of female preachers, judges (which was the highest office at the time), and other important societal and spiritual leaders present in the bible.

Could you give me a few? I mean no offence but my knowledge on that is limited.

But this does raise a few questions, like: how many of those woman were preaching in the church? Does that make what they did good? And so forth. You see, just because there were female preachers in the church (If there were any in the church in the Bible) that doesn't make it right. So all in all, I'm gonna hold onto what Paul said until you can give me some scripture verses that will prove me wrong.

4195806 That's fair enough my friend. I'm definitely not here to make you think one way or another. These are just spiritual truths I have found for myself, on my own spiritual journey. And I encourage everyone to seek the true will of God, his never-ending love, and his mercy for themselves. In whichever way these things manifest on their own spiritual paths. :)

Here is a really great comment I found on this subject on a site addressing this issue, by a male preacher who chose to be anonymous.

There are many verses and example that women prophesy and teach.

God never said women are not to preach. These scriptures were Paul's opinions, based on his cultural knowledge and the society he grew up in. God never told Paul to instruct women to be silent. Acts 2:17 says in the last days God will pour out his spirit on your sons AND daughters to prophesy. So here it is clear that God doesn't want men or women to be silent. He wants everyone to speak up and proclaim the love of God, teach about the power of the spiritual gifts given by the Holy Spirit, and inform people about the greatness of his kingdom of heaven.

A good example of female teachers/ preachers can be found in Acts 18:26. Paul began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. So have Priscilla and Aquila violated what was initially written in 1 tim 2:11-14? Definitely yes and they are NOT condemned for it. Paul praises them for their actions and their devotion to God's word.

Paul is not married too so does that mean Paul cannot be teaching or even becoming an elder? Previously a bible verse had said that it is not good for a man to be alone. He certainly needs a woman, children, and a home temple before he can preach and establish a larger temple or home. Yet Paul remained single for entirety of his life because he believed that is what God wanted him to do. Discernment need to be exercised here. And people need to realize that God calls people to do things that are outside of religious or societal expectations.

Act 2:17: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams". Prophesy is the highest spiritual power and this bible verse states that it is accessible to both men and women. Although here it is referring to the end times, this has been referenced in other verses as the body of the church bringing down the will of heaven and living on earth as things are in heaven (which includes the equal statuses of men and women).

The word spoken in 1 cor 14:34 states that both men and women should not chit chat or disrupt worship in church through speaking. Although this verse has been used in variations in other verses such as women being silent, or men being silent, they essentially all translate to the church body should not disrupt the message that the preacher or teacher has to give to the congregation.

Just like Paul asking slaves to obey their master, is it really ok to have slaves nowadays? Definitely not. Do you chop off your hand in Matthew 5:30. Definitely not because it is referring to the body of Christ (various branches of the church) that have sin irrevocably.

How about 1 Timothy. Should we take it literally?

It is possible that it is a part of the culture at that point of time. In view of many other verses that contradicts 1 timothy. I would rather be on the side of the other verse than to rely on 1 timothy as absolute truth.

God blessed.

-An Anonymous Pastor From Washington

Here is another Pastor's View on Women Preacher's/ Teachers.

In Romans 16:7 the Apostle Paul says to salute Andronicus and Junia who are of note or outstanding among the apostles. They could have been siblings, but more likely were a husband and wife ministry team with both being apostles.

I know this is still very controversial to many, and there male preachers and apostles still refusing to accept it - but the overwhelming evidence of most Greek experts, and many theologians now agree, is that Junia was the FIRST WOMAN APOSTLE.

John Chrysostom, A church father in the fourth century, wrote this about Junia: "Oh, how great is the devotion of this woman, that she should be counted worthy even to be called an apostle."

Most of the church believed that until around 1300AD when Bible translators began to use the male form Junias instead of the female Junia.

But Junia was a relatively popular name in the Roman Empire 2000 years ago and used in literature of that time. Wheras Junias (Junius), the male version is not found in contemporary first century Roman or Greek literature.

There are countless pages you can find online with experts undeniably proving this from the Greek. Those opposed are really in the minority now.

For 700+ years Junia was the "lost apostle." The lost first "WOMAN" apostle. This conspiracy and religious cover-up has now been exposed.

So according to Paul, Junia was an OUTSTANDING apostle along with her husband also.

Tradition has it that they powerfully preached in pagan areas seeing many conversions, and seeing pagan temples closed and new churches built on those sites.

Where would the church be all these centuries without faithful women of God?

So Junia really is the GAME CHANGER, in terms of how one interprets some of the other writings of Paul concerning women that have been used against women in ministry or leadership.

In this apostolic reformation they are now receiving the respect and recognition many deserve as they are raised up in 5-fold ministry positions, including WOMEN APOSTLES - AND OUTSTANDING ONES LIKE JUNIA.

And its time for some men in the church to get free from their old school religious thinking and TO JUST GET OVER IT.

JUNIA WAS THE FIRST WOMAN APOSTLE!!!

Here is another teaching on female preachers by the same man.

Sometimes women in ministry get a bad rap from men in ministry.

I was reading this morning in LUKE 24 how the women who had gone to the tomb of Jesus with spices they had prepared found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. They were then frightened when 2 angels with clothes shining like lightening appeared and reminded them what Jesus had said in Galilee regarding how the Son of Man would be crucified and raised the 3rd day.

They went to go tell this to the apostles and others. It says in LUKE 24:11 these men would not believe the women and thought they were speaking nonsense. Only one responded - Peter - the one whom satan had asked for to sift as wheat, and who consequently denied the Lord 3 times.

But now through the announcement of what these women have seen, Peter, the one needing healing, deliverance and restoration responds. This is the beginning step toward his restoration, and it is initiated by these women whom he believes. Jesus has prayed for him. HIs faith is about to be restored and now he takes the first steps toward this, and he runs to the tomb, while the others continue to talk about how nonsensical these women and what they have said are.

I know there is still a lot of debate out there about women in ministry. But God has always used women throughout Scripture as part of his epic story. Women have many times spiritual sensitivities that men do not always have in the same way. They carry something special from God and can help initiate things in powerful ways.

And many times they have an anointing and faith to see those who may have thought it was over like Peter, get up and begin running toward their destiny again. They may not initially be received by all the men who may view them as nonsensical, but their anointing can target the key player in the equation who has dropped the "keys of the Kingdom" he had received and help stir him to launch back out on his destiny. One announcement from these women stirred Peter to start running.

It says these women were preparing the spices to anoint Jesus body. I believe there is a prophetic application in this, that many women love fragrant spices, and the presentation of their ministry and message may be accompanied by those "spiritual" fragrant spices that have been prepared in their times of prayer, communion, worship and consecration before the Lord.

These "spicy" women in ministry will not always be received by all men. But their "spicy" prophetic and apostolic anointing will target those ready for restoration - those ready to get back in the race, and will have the effect of healing, deliverance, and restoration.

PSALM 68:11 in the Amplified Bible says, "and the women who proclaim the good news are a great host."

God is raising up an army of anointed "spicy and fragrant" women apostles and prophets in this season who will bring healing and restoration to many. Let's be careful how we treat them. What some men may say is "nonsense" may actually stir a "Peter" to get back in the race.

Keep in mind that this is just two pastor's perspectives on this subject. But I believe that their views are correct. There are other examples i could bring up, but that is what I found for now.

At the end of the day, read everything you can, and make spiritual decisions for yourself. Seek God, and God will give you all of the answers that you need. :)

4195896 I agree with their views as well mate. But my problem is woman pastoring. And I do think I need to clarify myself here, for it does appear that I'm in the wrong here.

I don't have really any scriptures to back me up here, so please forgive me if I sound foolish. If I have a woman pastoring up in front of the whole church, that's gonna draw some eyes. I've seen woman prancing around on stage before, and what it does is distracts you from the word of God, well I assume this happens to others besides me. And, knowing humanity, I'm probably not the only one.

So I suppose what I'm trying to say is that I have a problem with woman who pastor for a church, especially the good lookin ones, because its sucks my eyes from The Word Of God an places 'em on the pastor.

Now, just to clarify, I have nothing against woman who preach and evangelize, I agree with them who do, in fact. But what I have a problem for is woman pastors, and that's the heart of the matter to me.

4196046 The only thing I can say is to seek the truth for yourself. Those who seek not only the truth but the understanding of the truth are truly blessed. It is your spiritual journey and you have to find an answer by pressing into God.

Keep on seeking God's light and love and you will always be lead in the right direction. Chase after the good things of this world. The hope, the beauty, and the miracles that this world holds.

As Jesus said, turn away from all that is evil, all lustful thoughts, and the laws of men. For if you are caught up in the laws, culture, and religious ideologies of man, you shall be judged by the laws of man. But if you follow the principles of heaven, then you will call down heaven and live a truly blessed life.

Keep focused on God, the beautiful things of this world, and stay blessed.

4195119 You're welcome.

4196110 Stay awesome, my friend. ;)

4196130 I know that you will do an excellent job. XD

4196079 Amen to that sister!
