Letters arc complete and posting Monday with Chapter 10 of The Knight, The Fey Maiden, and the Bridge Troll too

I have up to Chapter 99 complete in Letters From a Little Princess Monster, which is a little embarrassing since I *started* the arc in the middle of Covid season. It could have graduated from several universities in that time. Rather than tease bits out of it like I have before, I'm just going to go straight into my daily publishing routine and let you catch up on where I am on The Knight, The

Sun will be down for maintenance on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience. --NASA

Here's a story by Estee you can read to take up the time until the Sun is all tuned up and returned to operation.

EA Total Eclipse Of The Fun
The second anniversary of the Return is approaching, and all Luna wants for the celebration is one thing -- something Equestria hasn't seen in more than a thousand years. This could be a problem.

    Big Leather Egg Sunday

A reminder (as John Cleese put it) that today is Big Leather Egg Sunday, and to celebrate, I'm linking the Best Football MLP story of all time by Kris Overstreet. Starring... Rarity?

    Goodbye Toby Keith, American Legend

Undoubtedly, if Toby Keith had ever done a tour in Equestria, Applejack would have been right there in the front row, whoopin' and a hollerin' as loud as possible. I think every high school in the US had a proud friendly guy like this, and we raise our red Solo cups in tribute to his last beer run. Salute!

New Year 2024- New Projects 1939

Still working on everything else this year, but I've got a sequel/prequel to Equestria: 1940 in the works, both a series of short stories set in the 1940 world up to the Equestrian moon project, and a war story showing some behind the scenes details about the war. For a little country the size of Ohio in the northern Atlantic, it has a lot of potential. Explosive, mostly. Snippets after the

Second Plug Tuesday · 12:01am Aug 30th, 2016

Did this last week and it worked pretty good. Trying it again.

First, for the sillies, Fifty Things that Ponyville Citizens Are Not Allowed To Do.
Second, remember Seattle's Angels have a podcast. (Link to the one with Pen Stroke)
Speaking of which, if you're one of the seven or so people who are not following Pen, he has a new story regarding alternate realities of Past Sins called Glimpses.

Thirdly, an extremely well-written story on how ponies learned to count past four, Numberography.

Fourthly (and most important), Titanium Dragon (who writes an exceptional set of story reviews so you should follow him) recently brought my attention to something quite important:

HoofbitingOverlord is unpublishing a bunch of his stuff next week so you should go read his stuff right now.

This includes one of the greatest romance stories ever, Spring is Dumb starring Rainbow Dash.

You know how everybody tells you, "Show, don't tell" when writing stories? This is it. My first run through it, I didn't understand. I was looking for "Tells" and kept skipping over all the "Shows." The second read through it, at a much slower speed, was much like a trip through a threshing machine. Go hit TD's link and read all of Hoofie's stuff before it all vanishes. You won't regret it. (The cover picture is pure comedy gold too)

Eww, RariDash...

Eh, I keed, I keed. I'm sure it's a great story.

It really is. Rainbow Dash is wonderful in it.

And, of course, that most recent TD blog has one of my stories soundly Not Recommended...
Granted, I don't think I've ever written anything that met his standards. Maybe one or two Writeoff entries.

But yeah, I've made a new bookshelf entirely for HBAO's work. And if that won't preserve it after the mass unsubmission, I'll be copying the URLs.

4180740 That would be Team Cohesion by FanOfMostEverything (plug, plug!) in which the Wonderbolts review various newspaper delusions about their activities (which I upthumbed)

Seriously, I think TD has given me a 'Recommended' about once. Maybe twice. Still, he *reads* a lot of my stuff (and yours), and that means something good for the two of us.

(Yes, there are a few authors I recognize on the popular list which I normally don't read, because I know they don't write things I like. But not many.)

From Princess Twilight Sparkle, President of the Twinkle-Nebula-Frie-Neutron Family Reunion, specifically. :V

Though My Brother, The Tooth, The Cancellation of Prince Blueblood, and In Celestia We Trust, All Others Pay Cash have WRs, though I think those predate me writing reviews. I have a bunch of your stuff on RL lists; I haven't read the vast majority of what you've written.

But yes, I follow people who write good stuff (and unfollow people if they don't write good stuff often enough, because I don't want to keep beating up on them, and also because, you know, I want to read stories I like). So... yeah, if I follow you, it is generally a sign I think you write well.

The downside is that you are then cursed with TD reading your stuff.

Though apparently a story I NRed the other day ended up getting like 100 views out of nowhere after I did so, so apparently it isn't like, the kiss of death or anything. I try to write reviews so that people understand where I'm coming from; I am not the be-all, end all of taste.

Just mostly. :trollestia:

Wizards, Foals, and Fools got a Recommended from me.

Daring Do and the Weapon of the Ancients, Induction of the Innocent, and a number of stories from Dueling Keyboards all got WRs.

I haven't read a few stories of yours on FIMFiction which I know I'll like because I liked them in the writeoffs.

Strongly seconding the rec for Numberography. And you miiiiiiiiight be hearing about it more in the near future. :trixieshiftright:

4180839 "...Though apparently a story I NRed the other day ended up getting like 100 views out of nowhere .."

The Element of Modesty here. For those of you reading who don't know TD, simply having him read a story is a recommendation. Having him not-hate the story is also one. Having him "meh" over a story is two more, and a full thumbs up means it is time to stop what you are doing and read it. (Unless you're an Air Traffic Controller, in which case you can wait until after work.)

4180853 Perchance does this mean you're helping edit up the spacing and the occasional grammar error for EqD? (We fimfiction readers get so spoiled for our extra spaces between paragraphs.)

Ooh!
Thanks for the notice Georg.
