I write stories so that I won't be kept awake at night with a brain full of ponies.

Sorry I vanished on you all...

I kind of left you all and basically stopped updating without any warning. Really, that was a bit mean of me. The truth is, however, that I recently have had little to no interest in pony stuff. Yes, I watch the episodes and maybe read a fic or two, but I just haven't been interested in ponies. Other things have caught my attention.

I guess what I'm saying is that I'm on pony hiatus.

    My Thoughts

Almost exactly a year ago, I sat down and wrote up a checklist of very general plot points that I wanted to cover for Split Second: An Eternity Divided. I wrote down fifteen major points that I wanted to cover, not including whatever I chose to end the story with. I had no idea how long it would last me, but I figured that would be good. I couldn’t really think of anything else to

Someone (who wishes to stay anonymous to others) printed Split Second, turning it into a physical book! Here are the pictures! http://imgur.com/a/HstJp

It looks really cool! And I have a book! AAAAHHHHH!!! :pinkiegasp::pinkiehappy::rainbowlaugh:

Instead of studying for my finals like a good boy...

... I was working on the next chapter. You'd better love this chapter, 'cause if I fail, I'm blaming y'all.

Anyway, my pre-reader, Dream Seeker, has the next chapter to look over. Expect it soon.

I sent the next chapter to my pre-reader.

Expect it soon. That is all.

Now, as for SS:AED, I'd been working on the next two chapter, as I intended to release them as a pair since they take place at roughly the same time. However, considering that part B has been sitting uncompleted for a while, I thought that I might as well put out part A, which I just sent to my pre-reader. Part B might not be coming for a while, though be thankful that I'm not actually leaving you on a cliff-hanger.

In other news, I'm spending my creative energies on another project: I'm writing a novel, an honest-to-god book. It's titled To Overcome Hell. I hope to get it published eventually. And since I'm feeling generous, I'll share with you the first four chapters! I hope you enjoy it.

01 - Fall
02 - Asteri
03 - Training
04 - Camp

Wow man, i'll admit the To Overcome Hell, book intrigues me, its a really neat concept, maybe a tiny bit rough on some of the dialogue but it is great so far.

After I get a complete draft, I'm going to go back and refine everything — and perhaps hire a professional editor to look it over. It's a work in progress~

Thanks for pointing that out with the dialogue; I'll be sure to put more effort in there.

grrr! i just finished 04-camp.. how could you do this, the cliff hanger... it buuuuuurrnnnnss ;-;

Read the first chapter, it was good.
Also I wonder how many gods there are in this. I assume there is the important ones like the Greek and Egyptian pantheons, but what else?

4176924
Basically all of them. All the gods are shapeshifting entities, so religion A's sun god is also religion B's, while religion C might imagine that god as twelve different beings. It's a mixture of everything with a dash of Lovecraft for good measure.

I scrolled over the first chapter and I liked it. Bit of mystery, nice amount of humor for the opening and a basic idea that sounds just generally crazy enough to be fun. I mean, humans from fifteen different versions of earth rebelled against the guardians of hell--sounds like the idea for a B movie. Great stuff.

But, if basically all the gods exist: How does that fit with a literal creation following the Abrahamic faiths, as alluded to by your reference of Adam and Eve as well as Cain and Abel? Pretty sure that's incompatible with the creation story of, let's say, the Egyptians. And the Japanese. And probably most other religions, too. Or the knowledge accumulated by the scientific enterprise on Earth Prime?

4177127
It's actually fairly complex, but basically it boils down to the fact that while the abrahamic religions are the most correct (especially the Old Testament of the bible), no religion is totally correct. What's more, the method the gods use to create things causes retroactive changes in the world; if they create a person, history rewrites itself to create a perfectly logical history for that object. To you, anything thdy create or change would have appeared to have always been that way and would be totally explainable by science.

4177318
So, basically, sometime back the, let's say Japanese, creation story was indeed correct, and then--BAM!!!--Jahwe came by and said "Let there be my version," retroactively rewriting history?
...kinda works, I guess, given that I can't remember any major god that came after that that was not a version of the abrahamic god (or simply not the creator of the universe, as it is AFAIK in the Buddhist faith).
Would also mean that Earth Prime wouldn't be our Earth, though, given that the abrahamic creation story was debunked ages ago. Or did some other god pull something like a drive-by-creation on old Jahwe and said "Let there be billions of years?"
The esteemed god of trolling, perhaps?^^

4177339
Nah, it's more like the universe is much younger that it appears, as if the gods started working in the middle and as they worked forwards in time, the universe self-assembled the history it needed. So God creates Adam, then his parents automatically pop into existence, then their parents, and so on all the way back to the first cells. To someone outside the system, it looks as if Adam came first, but to Adam, it looks as if he always had parents.

Also, all the gods are in agreement with each other and the Abrahamic God is their boss (any mythical "king of the gods" is also this god).

Good luck with the book and we'll be waiting for the next chapter.

I really like the book, or at least the start of it. and i wonder if joseph is Belphegor, since in his dreams he gets called Bel, also since Cain and his general spoke about an arcdemon or stronger presence in the city.

read the first chapter and so far
pretty good.
so are you still planing to do something with the Black queen red king or its concept

While ill miss split second im glad that your writing this novel, ill try to buy it when it comes out.

4176958 while this is complex, it also leaves nothing to the imagination.

I really like the four chapters so far. If this got published once it was done, I would buy and read it and recommend it to my friends and family.

I really like the idea. The 4 chapters are great and if you do get published I will buy and recommend as well. Hope to see more soon!

It's like a world where everyone is Doom Guy. That's awesome!

Hmm, the world looks interesting, anyway, loking forward to when you update it, if you update it before Publishing. if next step is finish and publish, Looking forward to reading the rest.

Aww that was a lot of fun to read! I'm glad to see your sense of humor hasn't changed outside of fanfiction. I'd definitely buy this book whenever it is you finish it.
If I could take a stab in the dark, I'd bet Joseph's previous name was Beliel, and his friends name was Azazel. I'm sure time will tell~

Gah, I want to read more right away... I wish your book was both finished and ready to be bought by me!

4177874 I agree, and I do have another piece of "evidence" that helps your claim. Belphegor is the demon of gluttony, and Joseph is, as he stated, 'quite the glutton.' Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!!!!

Damn send me a link when you're book is published. I definitely want to start reading it as soon as its done. I thought I wouldn't like it cause it would be a sort of Dante's Hell book but reading deeper into it I can see it's very different and it really drew me in.

Must read.

PLEASEEEEEEEEEE when u finish this and get it published please email me at lexiebommel10@gmail.com i am super intrested in your book and would love to buy it once it hits the racks

Hey hoe, just got back from my own pony hiatus for the last like 3 or 4 years. Coming back into it now and just wanted to tell you when I found split second again I kinda screamed and had to see if you were alive.

Will come back to this?

I doubt you will respond to this but if you do please log in long enough to put the canceled stamp on AED I rather think at this point it is clear you have no intention to finish it

Hey, dunno if you'll see this but I loved the Split Second series, and I really enjoyed rereading the few TOH chapters you posted here. I don't know if you ever finished that novel, but if it's published, I'd love to buy it and read it in its entirety. Send me a PM with where to buy it when it's out :)
