Spoilers ahoy, naturally.
I have been attempting to remain spoiler-free on this movie, to limited success as my own curiosity gets the better of me. Then I saw a screencap of Filthy Rich glaring at Gloriosa Daisy. With the screenshot framing only his head and collar, I thought "Dark-haired dood with dark skin and a red and white outfit? Sombra!?" I rushed over to watch the preview clip in question and was dismayed to find it was only Filthy Rich. And he's trying to buy Camp Everfree to make a building project on the land.
I have also seen people point out Gloriosa Daisy's necklace of crystals use the colors of the Mane 5 sans Twi and Sunset, and that her shoes look similar to Gaia Everfree's footwear in the brief glimpse of her we've had.
Please, please don't let this be a Scooby Doo plot where Gloriosa is pretending to be the legendary Gaia Everfree to scare Filthy Rich off from buying the land. I mean if she has actual powers which may or may not be siphoned from the Mane Seven, that can still be cool, but this is such a lame and cliche plot. The last two films were so creative and unique, don't let this one devolve the franchise back to the first film.
Scooby Dooby Doooooo
I'm more worried that Sunset seems to have been demoted, what with how Sci-Twi is front and center on the DVD cover. Though at least all seven of them are on the cover this time and it makes for a symmetrical image. Not to mention how there haven't been any shorts released yet and there's a little over a month until its on Netflix. No wonderful Sunset Shimmer music video this year.
It is odd to see Filthy Rich this mean, while EQ Diamond Tiara seems more neutral (though EQ CMC don't have to worry about cutie marks and all). I am worried about this film, but it is kind of hard to top the perfection that was Rainbow Rocks, and FG had the epic/brief Daydream Shimmer vs. Midnight Sparkle clash. Considering they're out in the woods, even less chance of a "Sunset being homesick" plot, so far from the portal (and with Sci-Twi's nightmares probably being a major plot).
I fear the worst: Gaia Everfree will be just a misunderstood nature spirit, and the real villain will be Filthy Rich, because capitalism.
I really don't want the movie to come out with a Scooby Doo plot. Anyone feel mad that Timber Spruce is out there trying to sink SunLight?
