I was at the beach all day, and the adults were drinking all day, and were visibly drunk.
Then we go home, and they drink much more
Then they decide it's time to drive (!!!!) us out to eat, at... guess what? A beer garden.
If I disappear, I've died in a car crash on the ride home.
Seriously these people can't even walk straight or sit down in a chair without missing and falling, and they're all completely slurring their words, and a dude I've like just met is grabbing me and hugging me...
Not good.
This is why I've avoided drinking.

Wow. Yeah, I'm in my mid-thirties, don't have a driving licence and don't have any plans to get one. I walk everywhere and my leg muscles are incredible as a result.

I've only ever gotten drunk once, and that was to write a drunk scene in a fimfic.
