I'm in the wrong line of business. · 3:21am Aug 24th, 2016
As in my random internet pokings, I just discovered that Amazon sells GI Joe fanfiction.
This is an actual thing.
The best part, honestly, is in the guidelines. There's the standard "Don't use real people, don't write porn, etc." And then, this:
"15. The character, Snake Eyes, shall never be depicted or described as a fan of the New York Yankees."
Doesn't look like they've branched out into other Hasbro properties. Yet.
Still. I have ... vague ideas of stuff to kick around. Huh. We'll see how ambitious I get.
That is a truly beautiful rule. I love it.
...
Well. I know what I'll be doing.
I feel like the specificness of this rule would make more sense to me if I were more familiar with the franchise.
I didn't know Snake Eyes was from Boston. Or that he was a good enough ninja to stealthily adjust the fan fiction guidelines for his own series. There's a story there, and I'm pretty sure it fits within Amazon's rules. Sadly, I'm not familiar enough with the franchise to write it. Someone should get RK_Striker_JK_5 in on this.
The IPs they'll sell fanfic for are strange in their diversity. Too bad I parted ways with GI Joe when I was, y'know, ten.
