So I'm now reading Jojo's Bizarre Adventure · 8:45am Aug 20th, 2016
I mean I'm only in Part Two: Battle Tendency and only early in that as well but its interesting and there's NO STANDS yet so when they add that it'll get more Bizarre.
But seriously Part One was already ridiculous with Stone Masks and Vampires and knights and the Ripple power that makes your fists exude sunlight.
And trying to explain this makes it sound insane.
But its good if it was way darker than I expected since it was in Shonen Jump for a long time and Part One was violent and messed up by the end like jeez.
Weird how I never started it til now. Guess buying the first two nice collections of manga off Amazon and then continuing through more cheap and not particularly legal means makes sense.
But seriously while I love supporting manga (its much cheaper and usually more reliable imo than anime purchases) its still rather expensive.
Also on another note I was reading while real tired and somehow replaced DIO (the bad dude in the Jojo series) with Jasper in Steven Universe and came up with the idea that somehow Jasper exudes the DIO rather well if we just take Part One (Phantom Blood) of Jojo into account.
Note: SPOILERS for both
Jasper was born on Earth in a bad Kindergarten, DIO was born poor. They started out with pretty much nothing and had a focus in avenging some slight they perceived from the protagonist. Dio hated Jonathan Joestar cause something with his father or something and wanting to take over the Joestar fortune- Jasper wanted to avenge her Diamond cause Rose Quartz did some bad stuff.
Then there's the plot being discovered from both series. Dio sets up some stuff and does evil and becomes a vampire (or corrupted in a way) by the power of the Stone Mask. Jasper gets cornered and beaten by fusions and finally gets corrupted in the end by her decision and desire to best Steven and Amethyst in her anger.
Also both like saying how useless things are- DIO's patented "Muda, Muda, Muda" translating into repeated "Useless" Jasper just likes saying how broken and sucky things are compared to her awesomeness.
And both are really good at fighting and rather cheap in their tactics.
Have fun reading over 500 chapters! I know I did. But I started in Part 4 thought...
