It actually feels lately like I've been crawling out of a pit? So maybe there's a light ahead? But it's also blocked by Balatro lol somepony save me D:

The only other thing relevant to this blog is that I've had notes for a vs. post sitting in my notes document for probably the entire month now, what is wrong with me? D:

Fic recs, April 22nd: Jordan179 edition

Once again, though a good bit late, I bring it upon myself to memorialize an author via reviews of their stories. Though this time, it's different, as I had no connection to Jordan179 and only learned of his passing (three years ago this month, coincidentally), from this post

Another post about video games and Youtube and stuff

If I'm going to waste time watching shit on Youtube, the least I can do is tell people about it. :P

Ceave is a crazy Austrian with a love of video games and a head for philosophizing about them. Plus he really, really hates coins, no matter how tasty they may look.

Do you like video games? How about philosophy?

I like one of those things for sure, but no one combines the two better than a Youtuber named InfernalRamblings, a former professional game developer who now creates hour and a half long video essays about the meanings of video games and how they relate to the world today. Here's a few highlights, since this is now basically my only

Epic Kindness is live! · 4:35pm Aug 17th, 2016

Two chapters in a year? I'm doing pretty well. :D And I think I'm gonna start on Epic Magic right now, because I see a lot of things I want to do that I might forget if I don't write them down right now. :B Spoilers and commentary below the break!

I've updated the story description just a smidgen, mostly to embetter word choice. :B

"Fowl's Creche" is a reference to a novel I've never heard of that was near-demanded by Chris. :V He also gets credit for the line about Pinkbeard not having a brother.

Pinkbeard smacking a changeling upside the head with an electrified lute was a request by Aquaman! Hey, I finally did it!

The other spells in that section mostly came off the top of my head as I was writing it. Prancebeard's armor spell is something of an homage to Rampage from Project Horizons, if you can believe it. (And his reaction is an homage to Ant-Man in Captain America: Civil War because that was my favorite scene in that movie. :D)

And yes, that was an "Applebeard is a background pony" joke in there. :B I'm sorry, it just happened.

So, at long last, we come to the story's first major climax, the wrapping up the of B-plot, and the second oddly dark scene around which the story was written. Why did they both happen to Prancebeard? I couldn't tell you, to be honest. Rest assured, he'll have something to say about it next chapter.

Speaking of which, I haven't actually been keeping track myself: whose cutie marks have we seen so far? I just revealed Rainbowbeard's in this chapter, and Hushbeard's last chapter, if I'm not mistaken. Star Swirl doesn't count, since we've seen it in canon, but I'd like to get them all done. I just haven't planned that out too well. <.< Oh well. On to more epic writing! And then Kamen Riders! :V

It says something about the severity of the word "finally" here when I have genuinely no memory of ever asking for this.

I mean, I'm certainly not complaining and that certainly sounds like something I would request, but still.

I forgot to actually tell you about this. XD

See, this is why I'm dangerous: I will write down your stupid suggestions, take them seriously, and fulfill them four years later when you've forgotten. :V
