How Many Toes Has a Pony? · 12:38pm Aug 14th, 2016
If you had never encountered and Equestria pony and weren't told that it was called a "pony" (which sort of loads the dice), what would you liken it to?
Upon reflection, I realised I would describe them as alpacas.
Oh, to be sure, the head proportion is all wrong, and the eyes are... truly something else, but, to my eye, the general body structure is much more akin to the Camelids than the Equids. This doesn't account for the coat and mane, but neither does it account for the vibrant colours. (Ponies are poisonous; do not eat.)
As a bonus, this means sea ponies are more likely part Cetacean rather than part teleost.
