BronyCon - Sorry This Took So Long! · 6:19am Aug 8th, 2016
I hope everyone is doing well. I meant to share my trip to this summer's BronyCon a lot sooner, but despite having more free time, I've been otherwise occupied. There was getting things in order with my Celestia group here on FimFiction. Working around home, resting, and finally getting some major progress done on writing - at long last. That, and spending time with my ponies. It's been so great having time to spend with them, I'm so glad to feel that connection to them again. It's what helps my stories.
And speaking of which, I'm quite pleased with the response to the latest chapter of Luna's story. In fact since I completed chapter 14 (a very pivotal chapter), I've since renewed my vigor on writing "A Total Eclipse of Their Hearts". While I hit a slight snag with Celestia's story, I started working on chapter 15 of Luna's story and have already drafted a little over half of it (4,560 words). And a few days ago (during a work day), I managed to fix a scene in chapter 9 (6,539 words so far) of "You Brighten My Day" that I just wasn't happy with. Now, I'm set to continue with either story. And please have no fear, Twilight and Jeanne's stories haven't been forgotten, but one thing is for sure, if I can get Luna and/or Celestia's stories completed, that will allow me to focus more energy on the others. I really want to complete some of these. Besides, I have other ponies and projects eager to be worked on afterwards. I've also been brainstorming some ideas for these future projects. I gotta say, I love my new job. Having time to write again has been...there are no words to do it justice. xD
Okay, that takes care of my story progress. Onto the con. This year, Lyra was my go-with pony. She got most of the attention, like Trixie was last year (rats, I never did post anything from 2015's con). Well, last year I had a plush Trixie that kept me company and got to come home with bragging rights to the others, this year Lyra was in the limelight.
There were plenty of interesting panels. One was about the adorably entertaining Fluffle Puff (and yes, I am now a fan of Fluffle Puff and even bought a Fluffle Puff plushie). But most of the con was meeting up with some friends, enjoying the awesome Baltimore Inner Harbor area, and of course just enjoying the brony environment and all the ponies. Plus I spent more than my fair share of time in the vendor hall. Didn't go too hog wild spending though.
For the rest of this, I'm just going to share some selected photos, enjoy!
Here is Lyra checking out the view from my hotel room.
A shot of my hotel.
The Con Mascot Plushies (Hoof Beatz, Mane Event and Blank Canvas)
Equestria Plush - This year Marie made an adorable Starlight Glimmer and she had another big Celestia, which didn't sell this year (I didn't even see last year's before it sold)
KopesKreations had two fun plushies this year: Bulk Biceps and Discord.
BronyPalooza was great again this year. Lyra got to enjoy getting some glow sticks to wear while she rocked out to some great music!
And this year, I got a chance to meet two of my favorite fandom musicians: Aviators and Euro Beat Brony! Images can be found on my tumblr page. I'd post those here, but I know some of you would rather my appearance remain a mystery, so I'll leave the choice of seeing any photos of me up to you.
Luna and Lyra are chilling on my bed with a cute Starlight Glimmer I picked up.
As I said, I got a Fluffle Puff plushie, but sure enough didn't she try to eat my quesadillas while my friend and I were eating dinner the one evening.
That covers the highlights of this year's trip to the con. Additional photos can be found here on my tumblr page.
Take care everyone and stay awesome!

Man Jay, you're like behind on everything right now aren't you? I'm just glad you didn't get your quesadillas near Twilight, she is scared of them for some reason.
*sees Tumblr link* Ah so that's why I seemed that I seen the pictures before.
Shame I couldn't go
I am not keen in any way on Fluffle, 'fraid to say. The rest of the photos look nice though.
4138222 something about cheesiness got to do with it?
4140978 I was being sarcastic, but yes for some reason Twily seems to be scared of cheese. I find this to be confusing to be honest.
4141184 It doesn't read like sarcasm, what you said in the first place.
4141247 It is not the easiest thing to convey in text unfortunately.
4141282 maybe
4141330 I've had no end of troubles making it happen.
4141338 okay?
Nice. Sounds like you had a good time. I like the first image of plush Lyra; I didn't even know they make them so accurate. In the Celestia photo, I think I see a plush Rarity in the corner, and it looks very pretty. It'd be cool to see a well-done Rarity (or Twilight) plushie. I got a laugh out of the last two pics with the glow sticks and the quesadillas, heh.
Edit: Just realized that the "plush Rarity" is actually Starlight Glimmer, which it says above the photo. I'm dumb. sigh.
