The Wandering Bard

"I am a singer, a poet, a musician, a storyteller. I am a bard at heart. That is who I am. That is what I shall always be." (Icon by atokota on FurAffinity)

    Some OC Questions

Hey, all! This is a meme by gilgamemesh I've seen around Tumblr, and since I haven't gotten any asks about it there, I thought I'd post it here! Here's how it works: pick a number or multiple numbers from the list, post it/them in the comments, and in about a week or so (depending on how many asks I get), I'll post a follow-up blog about it! And if two people ask about the same number, that's

BronyCon: Sunday · 11:05pm Aug 2nd, 2016

Hello, my friends! I hope you did not think that I forgot to tell you about the rest of my BronyCon adventures! Oh no, not in the slightest.

Sunday:
On Sunday morning, my friend Lunatone was hosting a panel on writing dialogue in stories. I dressed in my cosplay and headed straight there. It was a wonderful panel, and quite informative. I met with my friend Kirito-Persona there as well! Some points I knew, others hadn't occurred to me before. Unfortunately, I had to sneak out when it came time for the Q&A session since I had only one more chance to get Ashleigh Ball's autograph. Truthfully, thanks to that encounter on Friday night, I would have been fine not getting it. But I also felt that I did not want to waste the money I had spent on the voucher.

So, I headed down to the autograph hall and waited outside until it was time for the autograph line to form. While there, I ran into Spike and Derpy from the Grand Galloping Gala, and I worked up the courage to approach them and tell them what a wonderful job they both had done. They were appreciative of this, and I spent a few moments more chatting with them before leaving them be. I ran into my very special somepony and our friends as well while waiting, and got to say hello with them before the lunch meetup we had planned later that day. Fortunately, when it came time to line up, I was near the start. And, while waiting, I got into conversations with some interesting people, so the time flew pretty quickly.

And then, it finally happened. I met Ashleigh Ball again.

Since I was in costume, she had remembered me, and once again said that I looked great. I told her thank you, and let her know that I really appreciated what she had said. After getting her autograph and taking a picture with her, she asked me if I was dressed as my OC. I was surprised and humbled that she would both guess and ask, so I told her yes, and that my OC's name is Lyric. She seemed impressed by this, possibly because she is a singer herself, and said, "Oooo, Lyric."

I smiled a bit and told her that, yes, she's a wandering bard, so the name seemed to fit.

After that, it was time to leave the autograph hall and meet everyone for lunch. We spent the time chatting and relaxing together, which was great. I got to get closer to some of my friends at this con. Even though we had known each other before, I hadn't really known how they felt about me, only because they are pretty laid-back. So it was great to know that I was accepted by them as one of the group, and as a friend.

After that, I went to the vendor hall for a bit, to see if I could get my hands on an adorable Fluffle Puff hat that I had seen people wearing. Unfortunately, they were all sold out by that point, which was probably just as well. It kept a bit of cash in my wallet. Also unfortunately, my wig was really bothering me at that point, so much so that it was legitimately hurting to wear. As much as I would have loved to finish out the con in my cosplay, I had to return to the room and take it off, spending the rest of the time in my BronyPalooza clothes.

At some point, I met my very special somepony at a "Dear Princess" panel, where cosplayers dressed as Princess Celestia and Princess Luna read letters that had been sent to them over the weekend. Some were funny, such as Derpy sending a note that she had captured Twilight and wanted to be paid in muffins for her safe return, but most were thank-yous, for MLP, for the bright spots its created in people's lives, and for how the security personnel could see that what they had done was allowing for attendees' happiness.

And then, it was time for closing ceremonies. It was pretty emotional and bittersweet. The con heads were stepping down, and it was a heartfelt and tearful farewell. There was much chanting, and someone started chanting, "Thank you!", which I heartily joined in. I've only been to two BronyCons so far, but I can tell that there is a lot of work that goes into it. So, thank you, guys, for a wonderful convention, and I do look forward to what the next year brings.

After that, it was time for lobbycon! I met up with friends that I had made at the con and spent time with them, and also had the good fortune of running into another FIMFiction author who recognized me! That was such a surprise and an honor! (And if you are reading this and you are that user, then please let me know who you are. I am, unfortunately, drawing a blank on your name at the moment.) Then it was off to dinner with my very special somepony and friends, and more lobbycon after that. Everyone was hanging out and coming down from everything, but still holding on to the magic of BronyCon. And, guess what! My very special somepony and some of our friends got to hang out with some of the artists who were here this year! It was awesome! And it was a great way for them to wrap up the con.

Me? I just enjoyed the company of my friends and my loved one, feeling so happy that I had done all that I wanted, met some amazing people, and seen friends that I hadn't seen in a while.

And so, my BronyCon 2016 reflections have come to an end. I hope you've enjoyed them! I know I certainly enjoyed looking back on all of these wonderful events.

Cheers, my friends!

And I would also like that. I don't believe I've asked, but where DO you live? Feel free to not answer that if you don't want to.
