    Hello! How are you?

Hey everybody, everypony, and everycreature. It's been a very long time. I have been on and off FiMFiction, but I always seem to find my way back here; I like to think a part of my life will be forever tied to this place and all the wonderful memories it has given me. I still have my Fic ideas lined up; I haven't discarded them. I hope to one day find my muse and write again. Depression is a

    Legacy: Inspiration and Motivation

So, I've decided to try something new. Much like Bassdrops and Bowstrings is inspired and motivated by a collection of fandom pieces, I tend to weave music into the themes of my stories greatly. Sometimes it's after the fact that I hear a song that fits a story and use it as future inspiration. Other times, I find the song first and the story comes after.

The Porcelain Dolls · 9:00pm Jul 31st, 2016

Do you ever feel like you've got to struggle to be beautiful? To be perfect? To fit into the mold society had built for you?

What if I told you that the porcelain skin you've built up around yourself is holding you back? What if I told you that binding yourself as such places you in a sphere of glass, held together by the bindings of society and other people. You trap yourself inside their views, not allowing yourself to believe that beauty can lie beyond the walls of that sphere.
You are like a ballerina, twirling in her sphere of glass.

Now, what if I told you that, to be free of these bonds, one must only look outside the glass and see the beauty there. And then, shatter their barriers.
Okay, allow me to reiterate. I know it's never so simple; some people spend years building up a shell of porcelain - a pre-conceived beauty. Others are plagued by demons; Anorexia Nervosa. Bulimia Nervosa. Social Anxiety Disorder. Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
These are not so easily banished as with a snap of the finger. And yet, the first step to overcoming these barriers is with you. You are not too weak. You are not too frail. Though you fear to lose your porcelain skin, I can say with confidence that another, equally beautiful layer lies underneath; for we are not only our skins but souls as well. Or hearts, if you don't believe in souls. Whatever floats your boat.

Am I making no sense? Or perhaps I'm making too much sense.
But please, don't let me speak alone; I'll leave you with a few videos of a woman who battled with her own self-image and came away a stronger, more powerful person. Watch these in order, if you would.

Every day, people struggle against themselves and their views of themselves. But, when it comes down to it, all you need to better yourself and become someone greater is to have just a little bravery.
So, tell me everyone... What are you brave enough to do?

I myself am brave enough to face every new day, despite the fear I have of the unknown. I will never let my fears hold me back from living my life.

Thank you for reading. And please, in all you do, be strong. There is only one of you and no one can do what you do precisely how you do it.

Yours truly,
Inkheart

"Beauty starts in your head, not in your mirror"

That is delusion. You are who you are regardless of what you believe. What you perceive to be beautiful, however, is. In science terms: It's a simple evolutionary trait that was gained for us to chose the most 'powerful stock' to breed with. If you do not believe yourself to be beautiful, it is because you do not believe you are fit to breed (unless mental illness is present).

Now, I get what you are trying to say, but it simply doesn't work that way; we can't just believe ourselves to be beautiful and all is fixed. It's not magic, much as we wish it was. Some things are hardwired into our skulls and cannot be changed. Helpful words are just a bandaid that reinforce the illusion. The only way around this is not to care or do something about it. There simply is no other choice.

Those are my two cents; take them as you please.
