Ever wonder how preferences came to be? At one point in humanity human beings were able to evolve the natural instinct from, "hey this taste good so it must be safe to eat." to, "This food doesn't taste spoiled but it doesn't taste good to me. Therefore I am not only not going to eat it now but I will never consume this particular food ever again in my life."
I mean, what's up with that? How were simple minded beings such as our species able to pull such an amazing feat? Also, will we eventually grow and be able to do that with other things? Like with our other senses? "Oh, I don't find this particular vase aesthetically pleasing to my particular vision therefore I will not allow my eyes to ever see this vase ever again."
I know that sounds crazy but at one point in time we all ate the same thing without so much as a second thought, and no one ever said, "I don't like how this taste." Think about it.
