Be still, sad heart! and cease repining; Behind the clouds is the sun still shining.

You probably know how this sort of thing goes. There you are, mowing your grass on a day that can't decide whether to shine or drizzle on you, a few years and counting into your non-writing streak. Whatever thoughts you're having are at the expense of your lawnmower picking a fight with every passing tuffet and losing.

    Stellarum voces

A jolly update for folk who like either fanfic readings or The Motion of the Stars, and a downright rapturous one for folk who like both. My name is R has brought their vocal talent to bear on the story, complete with images and background music to help

    On Brains

A nice breezy dialogue to ease in with:

CARABAS’ COMMON SENSE: So, a hypothetical conservation for you.
CARABAS: Two lines in and we’ve already got fictional discourse nested in the initial fictional discourse. Gosh, I must just love to live dangerously.

Wedding March posted! · 12:20am Jul 15th, 2016

Did you like (or at least begrudgingly tolerate the existence of) Moonlight Palaver and The Tempest?

Do you like (or at least think they could only improve the hot messes that were the subject of the previous item) changelings?

If the answer to both of the above is 'yes', then check out Wedding March, the next part in this series where the movers and shakers in the political world beyond Equestria's borders react to and/or attempt to survive the events of the show. This time, a royal wedding in Canterlot's received some unpleasant guests. And as if that wasn't enough, changelings are attacking as well.

Do have a gander if you're interested, and any feedback you see fit to leave would be greatly appreciated.

I'm afraid that I'm at "ate forest mushroom" stages of feedback. Namely "Eee, pretty colorswords!"

But honestly, looks like it's going to be a fun ride. :)

4092109
Glad you think so! And I'm not going to lie, that stage sounds like it produces the funnest feedback possible.

4092136 Well, it may not be very useful, though, it's all...

Snnnnnfffff. Duuuude. I can taste your worldbuilding.

It tastes like cellos wurble wurble schleep spiders.

Thud.

4092194
I can retire happy from writing now. I've hit feedback peak, and what greater heights can be scaled by anyone else living?

4092205
Heights can be scaled?
I wonder what 10 miles of altitude weighs....

4092205 The lizard people of remulon-6, of course. They cheat! Them and their... their polka dot trousers... with... flickering... floaty bits...

(Honestly, I don't need drugs. I just need a week of "all critical personnel must have at least twelve hours of overtime, no less than four of which must be on Prime Day," and have my operations manager quietly tell me "and it's best if new managers 'set an example' in terms of exceeding targets")

That said, it really looks great and I can't wait to see what you have planned!

4092216
Nah nah, you're thinking of weighing. I'm thinking of covering said altitude in layers of small protective plates extending from the skin. Words can be tricky like that.

4092217
Ouch. Hope that week comes to a merciful close soon enough. If not, drugs might well help.

Glad to have you aboard in any case!

At last, Wedding March. You finally delivered. I've sent the order to shut everything down. All debts are forgiven. This was all you had to do all along. Remember this next time you're planning on making us wait for another Palaver sequel.

*screaming in the distance*

You post this when I'm dead on my feet and have a 12 hour shift in the morning. You are condensed evil.

Awesome. I shall read that right after work.

4092217
Oh god you work at an Amazon warehouse?!?! :raritydespair:

4092811 Work from home, management for customer service down a tier or two. Plus internal IT now. @.@ They do treat me and my agents/colleagues pretty well, honestly; I have better health insurance than when I was a teacher!

4092550
Glad to hear it. Now kindly tell Mr Shank to put my finger joints back the way he found them. I liked their previous arrangement just fine, thank you. And if the cthonian wailing from the street outside's been your doing as well, knock that off. I liked sleeping.

4092569
*gloating from afar*

4092590
No, you're thinking of this gentleman (4092550 ). I'm mere diluted evil by comparison.

4092784
Nope, sorry. Honour compels you to read it right now, regardless of the present situation or whatever your job may be.

"For god's sake, man! Conducting brain surgery atop this rampaging tyrannosaurus isn't as easy as I'm making it seem! Look up from the laptop and help!"

"Sorry, old chap. Horsewords are calling my name."

*sigh* I hit another wall with pony after S5 ended, and I'd been doing a very good job of avoiding the disease that is ponyfic in the last several months. But I guess if anything was going to drag me back here against my will, a Palaver sequel would be that thing. Will read soon. I should also probably look into the mountain of blog posts I've missed.

Always happy to enable a relapse into bad habits.

4092985

Contrary to what you believe, not everything bad in your life is my fault. There were many people conspiring against you because of the long wait times, and not all of them are as lenient as I.

In fact, I think Mister Shank is one of howard035's men, and I notice that he has been conspicuously absent so far. See if you can find him and have a word.

Yay, words.

"For god's sake, man! Conducting brain surgery atop this rampaging tyrannosaurus isn't as easy as I'm making it seem! Look up from the laptop and help!"

"Sorry, old chap. Horsewords are calling my name."

"And shouldn't that German fellow be helping you anyway?"

"He's defusing the bally rockets!"

4093038
I'll let you in on a secret JAG; This is all original fiction so far I'm concerned.
I've never watched an episode of MLP:FiM.

4093479
Hey now, let's not unfairly generalise about 4092784 's career here. Not every rampaging tyrannosaurus he has to deal with will necessarily have rocket engines attached. Some might be steam-powered, for all we know.

My post was sarcastic. I freaking love MLP fanfiction, consider some of it as good as anything I've ever read by a professional author, and reading it was far and away my main hobby for about two and a half years after I joined the Herd. I've just had waning interest in it (and the show in general) for the last few months, is all. Hell, I'm glad for a reason to (maybe) start back up. I have way too many stories that have rotted for years on my Read It Later list.
