DARK V3.0: More Details About Dr. W.D. Gaster · 8:02pm Jul 12th, 2016
Greetings Gotham, Joker here! Thought I'd drop in and give you all a little bit more information about what I have planned for my third shot at DARK. First off, the ponies and such are humanized in the same way as they are in Written In The Stars. That's to make some of what I have planned a little easier. As far as their Cutie Marks go, I'll just stick them on their foreheads, that way I can keep the story at T rating.
Now, let's move onto what my Dr. W.D. Gaster is capable of. First off, this is what he'll look like, roughly speaking:
Hmm... maybe I'll use that second one as the new cover art... getting back on topic, like I said in my last post, Dr. Gaster's been spying on the Mane 6 ever since Rainbow Dash's first Sonic Rainboom as a small child. But, how exactly did Gaster know about the Mane 6's simultaneous Cutie Mark acquisition, or even who to look for in the first place. Well, to quote Dr. Gaster, "My version of reality extends far beyond yours."
Now, I'm sure there's some of you who are saying:
So, I'll try to go into a bit more detail with this. W.D. Gaster has a version of Pinkie Sense that we'll call "Gaster Sense." Unlike Pinkie Sense, which only forewarns of events that are going to happen within the next hour or two, Gaster Sense is connected to the very fabric of time, space, and reality itself, hence why he's able to tear it apart at the seams if he so chooses, or if he's unstable enough, like other pieces of Gaster are. It's also how's able to detect the anomalies that he and the Mane 6 will have to fight, such as Chara and his puppet/lackey Frisk and the other threats they'll have to face in the series, such as ones brought about by Starlight Glimmer, but since they're not native to the timeline, Gaster's not able to determine who, what, or where the anomalies are, but that they're just there.
Additionally, Gaster's combat skillset includes shape shifting (he IS a living shadow, after all), shadow/dark versions of Asriel Dreemurr's abilities (save for Hyper Goner and Star Blazing), other assorted attacks from other dark/shadow entities from other video games, his Gaster Blasters, and pretty much everything he can do in this video:
He's also skilled at hand-to-hand combat. Now, while all of these abilities may make it seem like Gaster is OP, there's a little something that helps bring down his power levels quite a bit: light. Like I said, W.D. Gaster is a living shadow, so while sunlight won't actually kill him, it will weaken his abilities by a lot.
Well, that's all for today, kiddies! Remember: dying is easy, comedy is hard!
So, he's essentially Umbra from "So... That Happened.", right?
