Chapter 30 writing update · 10:40pm Jul 10th, 2016

Hey folks.

Just a quick update, I’ve hit around 25% on the next chapter. My life’s getting pretty busy with overtime (48 hour week this week, then 56 hour weeks for the next couple, then a holiday to Poland to finally decompress a little after it all) so it’s not exactly gonna shoot ahead, but I should still have weekends to work on and keep steadily getting there. The rate thus far seems to be about 10-15% a weekend, which is a lot lower than normal (about half) but that usually speeds up a lot toward the end of a chapter.

Overall, things still seem on track. To be honest, this chapter was always gonna be slow anyway. Like I’ve said “one and a bit” left. So it’s all very “last chance to show” for me right now. Second guessing every sentence written, fretting that it’s all got the right tone, that the pacing doesn’t drop, when character moment counts as pacing, when a small joke is perhaps inappropriate for it all, or whether people want that from even a finale in MN7.

There’s a lot to think about. And it’s entirely what I expected to happen, so it’s in itself not unusual. I’m sure those who finished their stories in the FOE community can say much the same. I’m just discovering it now.

So...yeah. Progress is solid!

At least progress is occurring. Don't wear yourself out, though!

Looking forward to this. Still probably my favorite FoE story. I'd like for there to be something where we know what happens to everyone who survives after. Everyone talked about what they wanted but is that actually what the survivers get?

Someday I'll get back into reading this. Great fic but it was starting to affect me mentally, so I had to take a break. Now I'd have to restart from the beginning.

Hey man, don't threat it. What you do is amazing. You've put out chapters that are often four to eight times bigger than the average fimfiction author and they've all been great.

Can't wait to see what happens next, but I guess I'll have to do just that. :trollestia:

Can't wait to see the finale. Expecting epic conclusion to epic story.

dont fret to much over it id rather wait extra time then you give urself a heart att

You keep plugging along. It will get done when it gets done. DO NOT try to force it. To quote one of the modern masters, Mr. King, 'the story will let you know what direction it wants to take and how long to take getting there'
