So I was making progress with the sequel to Dimension Jumper and I had quite a few chapters either sketched out or finished and ready for a beta read when I noticed something. I had just written a fight sequence and was looking for where I could put training for that fight in. I couldn't. I couldn't justify it with some of the other things I'd written for Justin. As I re-read more and more of the story I came to a horrific realization. Justin was tackling new problems with little effort every other chapter. Justin was voicing ideas and those ideas were taken and implemented with no push back at fairly high levels. Justin was finding faults and fixing them nearly effortlessly.
Justin had become a Mary Sue.
After reading through everything I'd written I managed to pinpoint the chapter where I jumped the shark. I've got a lot of writing to do just to fix this, and more than a few ideas might be tossed by the wayside, but I know I can write better than this.
Thank you all for your patience.
Ouch. Now that sounds painful. Hope you can sort out your book soon, because I can't wait to read it.
2 years later no updates
This blog had me thinking ok a week to perhaps a month then, but of course this isn't the first time I've seen life throw an rench I into a writer's plan.
Took you 1 year, 7 months, 6 days to update, could of definitely been worse, so thanks for not giving up or something else to that degree. I shall now go read the new chapter.
